Paul?

What about Griz and the Great Dane?

I figured the next appearnace I'd be making was in Weld County District Court trying to prove that Henrik's hand wouldn't fit in a glove of the strap to a hand-held camcorder.

And Griz wasn't helping muttering something in broken English about being trained in the use of automatic weapons!

By the way . . . with the King of Wicker in China Ross has assumed the dual role as designated driver and moral guardian.

To most of you that may seem a natural progression . . Ross comes accross as a pretty quiet "funeral director" type of guy.

But I think those still waters run deep. . . I see him as the "big unknown" in the cultural and behavioral drama about to unfold.

I'm a keen sense of the human condition.

Court,
Doesn't Ross' business card list those areas of purview? : )

"I'm a keen sense of the human condition."
Wouldn't that make you the "Labrador retriever of sociology." Be warned - Jack can probably confirm this for you - you do know where they like to sniff, sociologically speaking, don't you? joker

Really, when I see you in Daytona next week, I just want a shirt, maybe a quick man-hug. joker

Well Jim and the gang, don't know if you're aware of this or not, but according to this weeks MCN..........................

March 6th will see Mike Akatiff's 'Ack Attack' 900BHP twin Busa powered, one with turbo, streamliner bike, attempt the world motorcycle speed record.

The current record stands at 322 MPH. 'Ack Attack' has already clocked 328 MPH unofficially. The FIM will be timing the attempt over a 15 mile long track in the outback. I presume that's the same outback you guys are heading for????

Enjoy, and great luck with your own endeavours.

I spoke to the ELVES last night and they had loaded the bike in a trailer and it sounds like they are having a rather good time.

Great pics compadre!

I didn't know you were so selfish. You'll gift folks a statue of a mean hairy beast, but in your own home you have sculpture of nude women.

Nice place! But your house guests look a bit... well, if it weren't for Ross to look after things, I think you'd be in for some real trouble.

Just had a Sat phone call from our very own Fireman, Jim went 172.811 mph in the 1350 MPS/BPF class on his first run. He did hurt the motor beyond repair. After inspection he found that the fuel line was pinched . Burnt valve, plug and head looks like some one hit it with a blow torch according to Jim.
Thats the end of the Buell for this meet, he has been offered a ride on a couple of Busas tommorow so all is not lost.
Will keep updating you on our mates progress as I hear or look at the link above for the Ammo boys updates.

PAul,
I just read the same news on www.landracing.com
What a bummer for Jim! He waited way too long for this to happen.
Well, I guess there's always Boneville!
What's up with all the damn water?

Well, all. Finally back to civilization.Feels nice to be clean again.Lake Gairdner makes Bonneville accommodations look like the Taj Mahal.Salt, dust, heat, and f---ing flies like you can't even believe.Unbelievable to get there and see water on the salt!! But it got better. We had to wait what seemed like forever to get a run in.The bike ran flawlessly and all mechanical stuff worked the way it should. The nitrous was fantastic and when I hit it in high gear it pulled to redline very quickly,I had to let off several times as it was geared as last year--a bit too low for the new power.Unfortunately I learned the lesson that nitrous is a harsh mistress and very unforgiving.A pinched fuel feed to the nitrous fuel pump well hidden by the fire sleeve required by SCTA leaned out the mixture and burnt the rear exhaust valve badly maybe damaged the head beyond repair.Sucked but taught me some valuable lessons-- better fuel lines and a fuel pressure cut off switch will be added--along with MORE nitrous.I really feel it had the potential for high 190's passes the way it pulled.Fortunately for me,unlike the poor Aussies,I don't have to wait 12 months for the next meet. Met an amazing amout of truly fine folks here and hope a bunch of them can come over for some Bonneville fun.Getting ready for Paul's party now.Back home and planning for Bonneville soon. Thanks to all of you for the support.
And a huge than ks to Ross Northwood for the unbelievable job he did for the Amo's and I.He ferried us everywhere, cooked for us, and generally did whatever it took so we could concentrate on getting to racing.Could not have done it without him!!And to Paul and Kathy who are hosting this assortment of fools and all their stuff .Some truly unique friends!

A long way to go for a single run but it's another notch in your belt.
You can say you were there!

Made it home in one piece.Had a great time at Paul and Kathy's place the last few days. They showed us around Adelaide and the surrounding countryside.Checked out there beach house and did some swimming.Took Paul's XB 12 out for some exploring the back roads yesterday, reminded me of my area. Foothille with grape growing areas, etc.Managed to not get in the wrong(right?) lane once. Now I have to wait to get my bike back to tear into it,darn!!
A big thanks to all here for the support. And especially big thanks to Paul and Kathy for playing to host to an odd assortment of Americans. And to Ross Northwood, who was truly indispensable.Ross drove, cooked, fetched, translated, helped me wrench, you name it,what a super guy!!

Welcome home campadré! It seems that the Buell racers in the Daytona 200 fared no better and due to similarly trivial yet show-ending matters, so you are in excellent company. And you did take away some very promising observations. Something tells me that really great and fast things are in store for you and the S2 in the not to distant future. Thanks for letting us all tag along. Really cool stuff!

Thanks Paul and Kathy, and Ross for looking after the Fire Man and friends. Would be great to see any additional pics you might have. : )
