The Firebolt is not a short bike. I asked a lady Blast driver to sit on one and she was stretching to get one toe down. It felt very close to my S1, same reach to the bars but rotated slightly down, not crotch rocket extreme, and slightly shorter pegs to seat. The published seat height is 30.5 inches. X1 is 31 inches. Blast is 27.5 or 25.5 inches.

Hi all,

I'm Saro's other half.

I have to tell ya that I'm very pleased with my Blast, but his has me in a dither.

I spoke to the owner of the H-D dealership that sold me the bikes (Ventura H-D) and he tells me that they care about each customer and bike...I think that is really code for we care about each Harley, and we tolerate the Buells. As you know...the first incident went to Glendale..they don't care about Buells either...they have a great guy who works there, but he is only one.

I don't really know anything about Bartel's...anyone had any dealings with them? They aren't the closest to us but if they really care about Buells...its worth it to go there.

Loli,

I go to Bartels' almost exclusively. They have several Buell people there that are straight shooters, Alan the Service Shop Foreman, Arson the Buell Tech, Steve the Service Writer and Erich Martin in Buell Sales. They all own Buells and know the bikes inside & out. Talk to Erich first. He does the demo rides on weekends and among other things runs the BRAG Stormriders club. Tell him Sparky sent ya.

FYI, Alan in his other job is the head mechanic for Buell's Demo Fleet. Steve reads and understands Buell's Service Bulletins so you as a customer don't have to explain how the dealer's supposed to process paperwork to get recalls done properly. Erich works with the Bartels' Race Team and races his own track prepped 96 S1.

I'm happy with the dealer as it is today because of these key people. Talk to anyone else there and you're wasting your time.

Sparky,

Thanks for the info, its good to know there are people out there who are going to take care of things.

After Saro's bike comes out of the shop this time I think we'll make it a point to go and get to know the folks at Bartels.

Thanks again,
Loli

O.K. Guys tell me the truth.I have been to the Buell website, and what do I find but the XB9R now is classed as a 2003 model.WTF is going on here? I stand behind Erik when he states that it will "Launch When Ready".But this may be pushing the friendship a tad. I have paid the deposit expecting to take delivery February March 2002 and do not have a problem with this.Tell me the web guru has it all wrong and I am not forced to stretch the wait an additional 12 months.
