HD already has test mule V-Rods that are putting out over 160 hp. Court/Blake/etc saw & heard the 140 hp one when they were here in Oct 02. |

Anon, let Dyna dream. It makes him happy. I do not doubt for a minute that he has seen some stuff, I have seen some stuff. I just know that just 'cause you build a few and ride them around, don't mean your gonna go into production. Besides Buell has spent a ton money on the XB motor, they are going to milk it for as many years as they can. Only way you are going to make any money is to do that. |

>>>Buell has tested Xb's putting out 150hp??? Dana: That, among all the inaccurate BS on this thread, is an accurate statement. The FX teams are doing great things with the motor, Buell engineers and doing incredible things. Remember that the folks racing in the FX series are pretty smart, wildly enthusiastic amateurs who are really good at what they do. Contrast this to a professional staff of engineers, armed with literally millions of $$ of equipment, a well define goal and a comprehensive collection of design/performance data. Make no mistake, Buell is in the business of designing, engineering, producing, selling and supporting American made performance motorcycles. There are a group of talented (think of 14 Aaron's in one room, well equipped, who get an annual job performance evaluation) people who's job description is "engine development". To that end, Buell has done some incredible things. We have not yet approached the limits of the fabulous air cooled V-twin. Several years ago we, like the folks racing in the FX series, had perhaps come close to what we could do with that engine as a result of being constrained by technology. Developments, data accumulation, testing protocols and technology have removed some of those constraints. I spend zero nights dreaming about the imaginary bikes Dyna sees in his dreams. I know that this group of folks at Buell is very creative and slaps together some imaginative "what if mobiles", but I am rally excited about the 2005 Buell I am riding and the prospect of what those talented folks are presently working on. You will see it. (print and fold this post and tape it to the underside of your seat (the bikes, not yours) and when the time comes, you can thank me for the info) Court |

THERE WILL NEVER BE A REVO BUELL. I have no problem believing this, hell look at some of the power folks get out of a well built S&S motor. And never say never BTW...notice anony didnt deny the REvo test mules. |

Dave, not saying they are going into production, what I am saying is Buell has tested them, is testing them, has toyed with them, etc etc. No doubt. You should see some of theother stuff they have built and played with. I remember one that resulted in a VERY big ticket for one of the Elves. Had some of the ideas that came to be latter in the XB series. |

Guys, keep in mind what Annoy. said. They have tested XB's putting out 150hp. Tested only, he never said it was meeting EPA or reliable yet. Now, that doesn't mean it's neither of these things. Just that they're testing them. So, try not to get to caught up in all this. Just wait to around July and when the announcements come we'll all know. I myself am waiting with great anticipation that there will be a surprise. (Least, I'm hoping there's one, and that it's not an XB12SX...) |

The test mule Revos at 160HP are not reliable nor are they street legal. The test mule XBs at 150HP are not yet reliable nor are they street legal. I'm just setting a data reference point to balance out Dyna's comments. And, Dyna, once again you keep claiming to have seen mule(s). That's plural, as in more than one. You also claim they are seen being ridden frequently around Milwaukee. I don't know why you are making these claims, since you and I know they are not true. Perhaps it's for the purpose of talking people into the idea that current Buells are no good and are about to be replaced. Here's the facts on Revo XB. One was built years ago to prove the point that the Revo couldn't be packaged well in a sportbike. That's it. It had about 50 miles put on it to show some folks how it didn't work well. Knowing exactly where and when it was ridden makes it extremely unlikely Dyna saw it. Since then it has never been run, nor will it ever be again. There will never be a Revo Buell. H-D has built the Street Rod. A very nice bike, and about as sporty as you can get with this engine. Guess what, it's not a sportbike by any measure. As I've said over and over, the Revo is a great cruiser motor. That's where it is staying. |

Never said it was ridden in the "milwaukee" area. Although I do manage to hit Mukwonago, East Troy, Waukesha, etc quite often. Here's the facts on Revo XB. One was built years ago to prove the point that the Revo couldn't be packaged well in a sportbike. Whoa now, first anony claims THERE WILL NEVER BE A REVO BUELL. And now admits that yes there is at least one & yes it has been ridden. I believe I reported on seeing this bike almost 2 years ago........you never know when or where I may turn up And not trying to talk people into the idea that current Buells are no good and are about to be replaced. at all, just reporting on what I know is out there being tested...for whatever reason. Do I believe a Revo powered XB or a version of the Revo will be released some day? You bet I do, I dont see how the evolution of a bike & a company can avoid it, but thats just my opinion. I think a 140hp Revo powered XB would be friggin hoot to ride. |

Bet a million bucks you never saw it on the road, Dyna. You are passing on semi-insider information, that you have heard, as something you have seen. |

>>>The test mule XBs at 150HP are not yet reliable nor are they street legal. That, in stark contrast to the majority of this thread, is accurate information. You know....as I think back, I've seen a Buell with another engine in it. I'm thinking Dyna and I could do an A&E special on "Dream Bikes of Roswell". I know what I believe. I just came home, half frozen from an intense session of fun-therapy on an XB9SX. I could care less about the imaginary hypothetical what-if-mobile....I like what I've got! In fact, I believe I'll ride some more. Court P.S. - I think I saw an all wheel drive English Springer Spaniel in Central Park about an hour ago.....but I could be wrong. |
