All

three years ago, my wife found the catalog with the page turned down and the RKA mini tank bag circled 47 times in red pen

being a sharp soul, she ordered one for Christmas for me.

I used it almost daily -- fit the tools for the MaDeuece, the flat fixer kit, the first aid kit for riders, and maps! just right!

it was boosted a month or so ago (mutter,mumble/kvetch), so I ordered another one, but this time, the expandable version

same high quality and attention to detail that this joint puts into their products, can't rave enought about it . . .. .

however, the mounting straps we not shipped with the bag. I just rigged it for my last couple of months of riding, an it worked great! I finally got around to dropping the company an email, explaining the lack of straps, and also inquiring after the cost of an extra mapholder . . . .

sent the email, walked 20 feet to the water cooler, and returned, only to find that the owner (Richard Battles) replied to me, apologizing for the oversight, and told me he would send off the straps soonest, with an extra map holder, at no cost . . . . .

being a wordy sort, and running a side, very small business, I told him mistakes happen, and to hang onto the map holder -- I understand small margins (and, for the quality these folks ship, their margins have to be small) -- he refused, told me it was too late, all was packed on in the shipping department, and thanks for my business

given all the moaning, bitching, complaining, and negativity about manufacturers and vendors, I figured I'd share a happy story --

these guys are aces, sell good products at great prices, and, as my recent exchange suggests, great folks to boot --

give em your business, all

Good stuff. I love to hear about people who do the Right Thing. Businesses like RKA deserve to have their positive attitude announced to the world. They deserve all the business they can get. Next time I'm shopping for luggage, they'll get first consideration.

Bomber, thanks for that info. I'm gonna visit their site, bookmark it and when I get my money it I'll see about giving them my business. Again, thanks for sharing.

They're here in California...and they are true, dyed-in-the-wool motorcycle folk.
