Reading many of the posts on this board over the last month you would think that people have been couped up all winter with nothing to do but justify their bike purchase, bench race till the cows come home, and rag on just about everyone. Boy I can't wait till February when people really start acting up! I was feeling really fed up with my bike when the engine mounting bolt snapped off in the head. IU hadn't ridden my bike for 4 weeks before that due to circumstances beyond my control. I noticed the bolt head falling off the bike as I was talking to my wife and letting her know I was leaving. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off. I was thinking to myself how I wanted to sell my bike for a Road King or maybe even a rice grinder. Instead I took the time to pull out my service manual and put my bike back together (along with a few improvements). I then set out for a 80 mile ride and had so much fun I couldn't believe I wanted to sell my bike. What was I thinking??? Moral of the story is, if you don't have anything nice to say, go take a Buell for a ride. It may just mellow you out a bit. Ride by a Harley and crack the throttle. Same great sound, half the insurance costs, and you deffinatly stand out compared to him. Next go find a rice grinder, crack the throttle and watch him turn his head. Yeah his bike maybe faster, but deep down he really wishes his bike was as cool as yours. When your bike has to go 100+ mph to be fun, there are not many places you can have fun (without getting a BIG ticket). The few, the proud, the Bueller. The All American bike with only half the price tag... |

half the insurance costs Koz, the folks I know who own both brands..myself included..pay less for insurance on our HD's than for the Buell. My X1 was consistently 20-30 dollars more per year. |

In february we are riding again here in boise. Actually you can almost ride all year long if you don't mind the cold. As far as insurance goes, i can insure a brand new 1130cc V-rod for only 100 buck more a year. and it has more value to it as far as purchase cost and resale. Don't get me wrong though, the only thing i would give my bike up for is a new BDM Ridgeback (Message edited by jeremyh on September 15, 2004) (Message edited by jeremyh on September 15, 2004) |

I worked in Wisconsin one year. Beautiful state and Fall is stunning around Madison, as are the Coeds there at UWM. And yes, AZ is plenty hot in summer. Actually almost fatally so. How do you keep your Buell cool enough to ride? Whew! |

Only snow round here is in the mountains! Unfortunately that's where the best roads are. Didn't stop us last year though!

Cool Picks! I am hoping to give Mt CHarleston a shot this fall/winter. I rode all year round back in S.C. BTW: IS that Joe Rocket riding gear? |
