Yea I know dumb question however the Buell is my first street bike. I have almost 12,000 miles on her and it seems I am hearing some noise from the front brake. Also, any suggestions on a good non metallic pad? Any pointers on installing the new pads. I have the manual.

Thanks

Mike

Don't use the DP pads that say,For Race Use Only. They work much better than the stock pads, but they destroyed my front rotor in less than 5,000 miles.

Mike, the stock pads are great for M2 front replacements. Simple job, 5 minutes tops. Follow the manual.

I got about 15k on my front pads. Just replaced with the factory parts, they were a little pricey but I have been happy with them.

just do a visual check from time to time. If you are hearing noises chances are you are ruining you rotor or will be soon.

I've got just short of 13k on my '99 M2. The back brake pads were ready for replacement recently, but the fronts have plenty of life left.

What kind of noise do you hear?

Mine is noisy when I push it around the garage, but not at all when riding.

Stock pads are great. Pad wear varies greatly with type of use. One long agressive track day will toast a set of new front pads.
