Without our Dynas and Rockets and Blakes, this board would get boring. Thanks for all the entertainment, cheapest thrills I've had in years! Keep it coming.

Dyna and Rocket...

I personally dig still having ya'll around. I am somewhat familiar with the bad experiences you both have had with Buell in the past, yet you still show a strong commitment to supporting the brand and the community.

It is refreshing to hear the experiences of others in order to compare them to my own. This board grows tiresome at times when everyone feels the same about their bike. And it opposes the principle of difference that has drawn many of us to this brand in the first place. Your differing views add the spice necessary to keep the taste balanced.

So I will continue to appreciate your contributions to this board. It breaks the monotony of the at times homogenous smoke being blown up my arse.

they NEVER say anything good about Buell, and most of us are here because we have good thoughts about our Buells. i havent read a post of yours in quite some time that was anywhere near complimentary or helpful

Hmm, I posted this...
Personally I prefer the raw naked look of the tube frames. Make it a sweet S1 with a 100" motor & all is well.

And this...accept the fact that Buell may make great street bikes

Oh my God!! 2 positive posts about Buell in 1 topic.

Stealth..lately its just these 2..spike & Ken who are crying because every topic isnt about the lastest race winning bike to come out of the Buell skunk works, or covering some Drummer discussion.

Amd Ken, you didnt answer the question...if you aint racing a bike, why would you need more than 20hp?? Seriously?

Wont a Blast get you around just as well as an XB? Or is it because we desire & crave more hp & more speed? Too much is just enough & nothing succeeds like wretched excess.

Like I posted awhile back, I dont come here for the bikes, I come here for the people. I have a number of close friends here & if you dont like it..so what???

dont get me wrong, this board would be decidedly less fun without dyna, but his edge has gotten a little sharper lately, and i see a lot of people reacting adversely to it. maybe im just plain wrong.

dyna, do you have a RANE patch yet? i sent your donation in today, but youll have to ping alex with your snail mail if you want one.

why not more than 20 hp?

i dont know a lot of 20hp bikes that like to do 75 or 80 on the slab, and you dont have to be racing to enjoy a wheelie or two. thats like asking why have a truck with more than 200hp. pure nonsense. if i dont like it, so what, if you dont like that i dont like it, so what then? why even bother to reply to my posts?

Do you actually believe that Soco and I are the only ones bothered by your persistent anti-Buell posts?

Do you honestly believe that you're not consistently against Buell on this board?

See, there you go. You come to a Buell forum and make anti-buell posts on a daily basis, say you don't give "2 5hits" what other people think, and then call me an @ss.

What's weirder than that- no one else seems to mind, and they actually seem to like you for it.

I don't get it.

By the way, I find it amusing that you come into a pro-Buell thread bashing Buells and praising imports, then when someone calls you on it you start and argument and blame them for ruining the thread.

Interesting. If everyone has to have a last word on this thread, there will never be one.

Personally, I liked all the posts. They were interesting, entertaining, showed that we all are similar yet different, yadda, yadda, yadda.

That's what makes the world go round.

Maybe we need in addition to the Quick Board, Old School Buell and XB topics a R1 area for Dyna's R1 posts.
That way those who enjoy his R1 postings can read them while others can then ignore them. I for one don't understand the incessant R1 posts on a Buell site. It is getting very old.

I do love my Buell XB. I have never ridden a bike that handles better nor delights more, and I have ridden a ton of bikes.

It is not the fastest bike in the world. Well, by definition, there can only be one of those. As Seinfeld says, everything else is "did not win."

So, buy what you like and then, hey, let us enjoy our Buells. I for one have no issue with it not being as fast as ............

Got plenty of money, I can buy a Hayabusa or R1 or whatever rice rocket is out there, tomorrow if I want. Don't want to. Personally, when I see some guy pull a wheelie on the street, I only think he has some growing up to do.

The rest is just blah, blah, blah.

Thanks Eric, and BTW-put the VROD motor into one of your chassis and we will rock on!

When my Buell grenaded nearly three years ago, my life was in turmoil. The Buell event was the straw that broke the camels back.

I've slowly climbed my way back. My S1W is not far off once again being one of the best S1W's on the planet. There's no rush now on my part. I've weathered the worst and I'm well and truly over it.

My life was such a mess I did without motorcycle for two years, then last July things had turned around somewhat and I was fortunate enough to buy a really nice unmolested late Suzuki RGV250. It had some running faults that needed my undivided attention for a while but that gave me an opportunity to see how seriously, well serious I guess, this little Japanese two-stroke was. Such a well made motorcycle and a lot of fun to ride, and very fast too.

Sometime later I also acquired a nice Honda RVF400, and things were moving on a pace with the S1W motor. Things were looking up indeed and they were about to get better. My friend offered me a cracking deal on his beloved 916. I was hooked. It meant the sale of both those little Japanese wonders, and a little more saving up, but the wait was worthwhile.

Now I've got the 916, and had it for a little time now, I've sort of put the Buell motor build on the back burner. I blame myself entirely but really it's the 916's fault. I mean she's so much fun to play out on, and I've really missed the thrill of big biking, I find her hard to ignore. It is an outstandingly competent motorcycle and it most definitely, like Buell, feels alive underneath you.

I've attempted to rejoice these breath taking Ducati moments on the BadWeB because I know that you all are happy for me, and most of you like Duc's anyway, but let me tell you this, my Ducati ownership does not in anyway change how I feel or have felt about things Buell. For now I can enjoy the 916 and the S1W will get her turn soon enough. Perhaps when the novelty of the 916 wears off. Does it ever?

Now then, for all you whiners about top speed and 8 / 10ths this and 6 / 10ths that, get your arses to Yorkshire on a fast bike because there are roads here where you can most definitely exploit ALL the offerings of very very fast bikes. Believe me, any capable rider is capable of pushing hard on todays superbikes. That is what they excel at with ease, going fast, even with you sat on! Now if that's not your bag I'm happy for you to plod around at whatever pace you find sedate enough but I'd appreciate it if you'd learn what you're talking about if you're one of those that simply has to knock those of us who like to ride fast. At your pace you obviously have no understanding of what superbikes and their riders are capable of, and you won't until you try one for yourself. You may like to further consider, it is easier to ride these bikes to their limits on a track but that does not mean the limits are the same on the road, thus many of these bikes are often ridden at their ROAD limit and it's not difficult to do, which is why they are so good, just like a well sorted Buell, except FASTER. Anyone can ride fast on a track. The road is where it's at. Think TT but with 2-way traffic

Hey for gods sake this is a bike site. Dyna's had his R1 for two weeks. The same bike has just won, and lapped, the IoM TT faster than anything ever before. It is THE bike of the moment. You all should be glad Dyna's here to share it with you. In any case, it's early days yet and I'm sure Dyna's still pretty stoked with his new R1, so what better place for him to rejoice, in the company of his BadWeB friends, some of which are obviously miserable bastards.

Brucelee,

If Eric puts the V-rod motor in a Buell you might end up having some growing up to do.

And if the XB is so great why would you want Eric to do that?

Why? Because deep, deep down alot of us Buellers yearn for the performance of an R1 wrapped in Buell skin.

Don't get me wrong I love my XB, but if Eric made a bike that had the #'s of a liter bike and the character of a Buell would I want one?

Damn straight, I'd trade up in a heartbeat.

Socoken, dude, the more you go on the more you do sound like a whiner. You talk about Dyna taking things personally? Better take a look at yourself.

I have a Buell, am I a Buell fanatic? No. You are right this is a Buell web site first. So having said that you better be ready for ALL things pertaining to Buells- the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Blake,

I don't think its that interesting. Its human nature or adrenaline addiction, which ever you prefer.
The world is full of race tracks, they just aren't "RACE TRACKS". So you don't ever use that performance when not on the track?

I know, I know, most of us can't use the amount of perfomance we already have.

I do think it would be kinda nice to have to worry about "throttle control"

Exactly Rocket,
I dont have a Buell that runs to talk about so this has to do. Funny how if you take my posts & substitute the letters XB for R1 ken & company wouldnt be saying squat. Trying to share my experiences & loves with my actual friends here.

Dont feel like doing it on the R1 boards because I dont know any of them personally & it tends to make the boards a little cold & impersonal.

I feel sad for those of you who simply cant enjoy all bikes & tend to have a 1 brand mentality.

Oke.

I'm relatively new to the board. I've been lurking a lot before I started posting a while back.

It seems to me there are only a handful of people that have a problem with dyna, claiming he's only bitching about buells and got nothing good to say.

You know. Until you started bitching about dyna, it didn't even occur to me. I didn't even know he didn't own a buell anymore until I recently checked his profile and that he had so many problems. To me he is just another person that loves motorcycles as much as I do. And he has an opinion. He shares it. I never took offense or thought he was slamming buell. But what spoils the fun for me is when you start slamming someone for contributing to the board. I don't think you realize your NOT contributing positively by bitching around about another guy do you?!?

If anything bothers me, it's people who have no respect for others and keep bitching around about others instead of contributing positively to the board. When I read posts trying to tell dyna to move on to an r1 or yammi board, it's clear to me that you don't really get the point of being part of a community.

And if I continually read posts of you bitching about other people, am I to take you seriously when you reply to one of my posts on the board? Think about that and realize that I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

And tell me, if he's such a bad person, how come I never saw an admin/moderator correcting him??? And how come I do see guys like you being corrected for calling names and posting disrespecfully with regards to other people?

For what it's worth, I am glad that regardless of your bitching about him, he's sticking around to contribute to the community. I'd rather read his 'negative' posts about buell, balancing the mostly postively biased posts by the majority than read your posts bitching about others!

Ingemar.

There's a new Blackbird coming.

My muffler is broke.

I'm working on it and it seems to be progressing positively.

Had a major storm blow through last night, no damage to our house.

Such is life. Ride, smile, enjoy.
