I replaced my stock transmission pulley with a 29t BDL aluminum number and I must say this is perfect gearing for this bike(96 s1 mostly stock). In 5th I'm pulling about 3k at 65, 4k is about 85, absolutely perfect. First is actually usable now, it used to seem it was geared like my Jeep in low range.

I own a Jeep also (first gear is useless : ) ). I went the other way with my Buell though. I put on a 26 tooth sprocket because I felt like the bike was lugging around all the time.
