I have been fighting the heat of the Buell for a couple of months now, Come to think of it as soon as it started to get nice the bike was too hot. I posted here and really didn't get anywhere with what was offered advice wise. So I decided to start from scratch. I removed the hard bags as I didn't have those last year (and the heat in mainly on my legs anyway). Replace the stock seat and rode it. It was better but still hotter than I remember it being last year. THEN I thought about it and pulled the windshield off and put the fly screen back on. WOW what a change! Who'd thought a little windshield could make that much of a difference?  I guess it traps just enough air behind it to start a slow rise in the temp and soon I'm roasting! I put the Touring Saddle back on and the bags and no major problems now! NOW it's about as warm as the KLR. Birdy | ||

Makes sense. The larger shield is likely causing a low pressure area that draws up all the heat from the engine bay into the passenger space. | ||
