My brother has a 2005 GMC Sierra 5.3L that is throwing a P4066 code. Now he says it won't take fuel??? I say he is crazy but he swears he tried different pumps at 3 different stations and could only squeeze in 4 gallons. He says something keeps tripping the pump like the truck is full. Anyone have any ideas? |

I had a problem on a G35 coupe and it kept triggering the "I'm full" thing on the pump. It was under warranty and it was fixed but had something to do with the vent that lets the air out as you displace it with fuel. It was mechanical, not electrical so I don't know about the code. Sometimes you will throw a code if the fuel cap won't seal. I tried to search the code but it didn't match. I bet the fuel vent is clogged. |

sounds like bad sensor? Its got more gas in it then he thinks! or, fuel sending unit. my guess is though he has a plugged vent. It could be an actual plug, or a bad vent valve. He can try to put the pump handle spout in the tank filler hole just enough to make the gas not spill out, and pump slow, he may be able to slowly fill the tank. I think my brother got the code wrong. Looks like P0406. |

I could fill mine when I turned the pump upside down or horizontal instead of vertical. |

Thanks everyone. I am guessing it is a clogged vent. When he removed the gas cap the tank released built up pressure. |

Pretty sweet. Diagnosed your truck problem in less than 1/2 hour on a motorcycle forum. |

P0406 EGR Position Sensor Volts Too High EGR position sensor input above the acceptable voltage range. I think. |
