New XB12S for $7250 BIN. "Pre-approved bidders only". These guys must figure Buells attract more greedy bidders than other bikes. It seems sure the Feds or somebody will catch up with them if they keep repeating this same scam.

Well either e-bay has caught on or something else but that item is no longer listed. Hope the Feds catch them. Buells are gold.

I'm thinking the E-Bay team has this type of auction as a high priority list now. It is definitely a problem to their program. As the leading auction site they absolutely can not become known as scam-central.

These scams are being run by eastern european hackers that are hijacking ebay accounts in good standing. They are getting people to wire money out of the US. It must be working because they are repeating it often and not just Buells...also BMWs, Yamaha R1s, Kawa ZX12...pretty much any highly desireable bike. I've seen at least 30 of these bogus auctions and reported them to ebay...I've e-mailed the seller on a couple and received replies to just wire the money and they ship the bike "free"...so far every one of the ads I've come across fails to use proper Enlish and always has free shipping worldwide.

It's more than just eastern European hackers, it's worldwide. I think one guy was tracked down to Zambia.

bottom line is protect your password, change it often and make it difficult to crack...always recommended to have a password of at least 8 alpha-numeric characters preferably with the numbers in the middle like LUV2BUELL or XB9R8RICE
