first off, i am not a rap fan. what i am is a huge fan of old soul and funk. friday on XM Patrice Oneil hosted the O&A show, and went thru rap samples of old funk and soul music, it is amazing to hear where most of the biggest rap songs started. here's a few more obvious ones, and add some more if ya got em.

Leon Haywood: i wanna do somethin freaky to you

Isley brothers: footsteps in the dark

this one is great
Joe Cocker: woman to woman

now the lyrics to the last sample
Ronnie hudson:west coast pop lock

how many P.E. songs can you pull out of this one.
JB's: the grunt

Damn! That Isley Brothers song is sweet. The music was always the best part of Ice Cube's "It was a good day". I could let that original song play as backround music all day long. The Leon Haywood song is nearly as good. Sweet find and thanks for passing on the info. I see some new music coming into my collection very soon.

I just came up with my own sample.

Hit play on all of the above vids together (or as close as possible), and enjoy.
