Yea its the aftermath of IKE and things are getting back to nornal, or should I say average, because it's always a stirr going on around here. Well I see a 2000 aluminum swingarm on ebay along with a new V&H Can so's I buy them both, the swingarm from Georgia and the Can from Utah and life's good, well I'm still waiting on the can, but it's due any minuate if I'm lucky, been 4 days. So anyway I get this swingarm and pivot block, and it's looking verry workable with some stripping, so off to napa for some Gasket remover, it works well on powdercoat, and nearly as good on spraycan paint, though accitone would have been best for the paint, so anyway I get the paint off and decide to hit it with my sidegrinder and a polishing 4" pad, fair enough, but this just dont seem to cut it, even with rouge sticks and a pro buffer, and that I'm 56 and use 2.75 reading glasses.. Well I discover a aluminum colored paint on the thing that must be factory, so out comes the side grinder with a cone wire brush, a brass colored brush, I dont want to eat the aluminum so again all's well. so a couple hours and a touch with a dremel on the imposable to get to spots and the swingarm is looking sweet. I intend to go with raw as I stripped my wheels a couple weeks back and I really like the new look, somehow the powdercoat colors were less than interesting. So off with the plastic, loosen the three motor mounting bars, off with the carb and exhaust and the rest to replace the swingarm, pluss I got 2 new isolastic rear mounts to boot so I mount it all up and Wela....oh shi* wheres the belt, yea gaduhhhh....it's funny now that I think about it. So I go through all the stuff again, drop the rear of the motor and pivot and get the new belt in and button it all back up. The thing is INitally all I was doing was changing my drive belt because it lost some teeth, and all this other stuf seemed like opertune timing since its a pain to change this stuf anyway, so why not put the dream parts in too since its not much more hassel. Well it looks good and othere than being done and then noticeing the belt absent, it all went well. my last item to figure out is which cabels go where on the battery, ie. 2 on one side and one on the other, so I guess I'll experiment and hope I dont cross them.

I like polished M2's

I went through ALOT of polishing compound, sanding disks, a few band-aids, and a beer or two, but the final product was well worth it.

Polished is good, I concur, But I don't have nearly the amount of stuff polished as Koz.

Now, if only Koz would get to work on mine!
