Buell Motorcycle Co. chairman appointed to AMA Board

Tuesday July 29, 2008

Erik Buell, chief technical officer and chairman of Buell Motorcycle Co.,
was appointed as a corporate member on the American Motorcyclist Association
(AMA) board of directors, reported Harley-Davidson.

"The AMA is currently going through a huge transformation into what
leadership there believes will be a much better organization, poised to open
up the world of motorcycling to more people," Buell said in the release.
"After going through my first board meeting, I can certainly say that all
the members there are absolutely unified in helping make these changes
happen. I am very honored by being chosen to be part of this by the AMA and
HDI, and will do my best to apply my experience to deliver to the AMA
goals."

So I know the AMA Motorcycle museam has "features" for seasons. Maybe now we will see a BUELL feature for a season!

Maybe now we will see a BUELL feature for a season!

Would that make Vintage Motorcycle Days a sort of Homecoming 2? I'd be there either way, of course.

Erik has been on the AMA board of directors since Buell had fought to get the XBRR legal for FX racing. Good to know that he is staying on board to help make sure the right decisions are made in motorcycle racing.

pity they couldnt get the dirt bike to racing ... seems to be that is the only way people think of a dirt bike, super cross, mx, arena air,
I cant remember the time I ever saw a KLR catching big air. Somebody better tell the Kawasaki brass that bike wont sell if they dont race it.

Congratulations to Mr. Buell he will certainly be an asset to the board. With all the changes made by the AMA recently his forward thinking and motivation is what the AMA needs.
