Does anyone know if Buell plans anything beyond demo rides for the MotoGP weekend? We're on the opposite side of town, but I've considered offering our backyard as a gathering spot after Saturday's events. The wife is in a band that wouldn't mind having an excuse to play. That being said, I believe the Aprilia clan is hosting a gathering at the State Fairgrounds. I have no desire to compete with a similar Buell event (that I'd want to attend!). If anyone has any insight please pass it along. |

Buell has demo rides listed on their web site for Indy. |

I'm guessing demos end at 4:30 or 5:00. My question is regarding the rest of the evening. |

I`m riding out of St. Louis either Thursday evening or early Friday morning and staying at the Hilton in Carmel. If someone is willing to host a Buell rally let me know and I will chip in for beer and BBQ. |

Anyone know if Pete (indy_bueller) is going? We've exchanged a couple of emails. He's also considered doing the BBQ thang. Turns out we live less than 5 miles apart, just don't get much of a chance to get together. Kids, school, and work keep me plenty occupied. We've got two tents, or floor space. I bought seats in section I/J. From what I hear, I'll be surrounded by 250 Apes (Aprilia riders). |

If someone is willing to host a Buell rally I am.... though I'm a little nervous about how big a "rally" is! It's probably one of those things that I just need to commit and enjoy. I'd really like to know what Buell has in mind before getting spun up, though. |

Yep, I'll be there. My understanding is that there will be a Buell presence at the track, but I don't know the details. My guess would be a Demo truck along with a Buell Owners area and parking. I'd like to have a shindig at my house, but like Roger, I don't want to plan anything that would prevent me from going to something else I'd like to see. I'm hoping that Buell will announce their plans soon (hint, HINT!). That way the rest of us will be able to plan what the heck we are going to do. |

next time?? last m/c race at iNdY was 1910 - if the pattern holds, the next time will be in 2106 - hoverbikes? - jet pods? rumor is that F-1 will be back next year, not MotoGP who knows, maybe hot air balloons again |

FWIW, I'm riding my bike to Indy for my 4th GP event! These things rock, especially in Spain. I wonder how the US will be. Orange and Silver '05 Firebolt from NJ. Holla at me! |

They put way too much effort into changing the track for it to be for one year. Since Bernie E. didn't have input to the changes, I'm sure that they weren't good enough for him. I don't see them coming back. The money they can get from other venues wanting to be on a world stage is quite a bit more than the Speedway is willing to pay. It's one of the last few places where the owner covers it all instead of relying on local funds. |

one year deal, with a 3-yr option, from what i understand. and the big change to the layout means no banking, which is what caused all the noise w/ the michelin teams a few years ago |

Tim, I've got a broken exhaust stud, that cracked header (sending it to Toona), and when I took of the header, my valves are white and I know that's not good... So now I need to figure out what's going on there. |

wilson, i have one of those Jim's tools for drilling the stud out if you need to use it. intake seal leak would be my guess on the white exhaust valves. i cut the short end of my allen wrench shorter to make it easier to fit the intake bolts and use a small pipe from a bottle jack for added leverage to break those bolts loose. good luck and let me know about the tool. tim |

Tim, I totally need that tool!!! Hey, I can save on shipping, and pay for it both ways if I have you weld the header. It would make more sense that way I think. I'll mail you the header and you can fix it, then put it back in the box with the tool and mail it back. Since I work for fedex, I will use a prepay sticker that you just slap over the old sticker when you mail it back (it's way cheaper that way..) P.S.- You're right..If I wake up early enough, I can still make it...It's going to be one helluva hungover ride. Now, I need to find out how to get tickets near you or someone I know. |

HR The change to the layout I'm referring to is not in the banking area, but in the flat area through the infield. They did add a segment that keeps the bikes from going through the traditional turn 1, but I believe that it's so that anyone who fails to negotiate the turn has a slide area instead of a wall to contend with. It was an addition of an alternate path rather than a modification of the old F1 course. |

Now that I think of it, the "addition" probably required the removal of the F1 pit entry. I'll have to take a look later. |

+1 on the slide area. anyone remember the AMA hugger race at the Milwaukee Mile? i'll be going down later this week to take a look, myself. our seats for the 400 are in T1. |

I am concerned that the GP's won't be back next year in Indy as well. From looking at the youtube videos of the testing session in early July, the track looked pretty goofy, especially the spots on the main speedway. However, there were TONS of arguments for not coming back to Laguna, but they keep coming back. I hope they come back, but only time will tell. |

Chad... I'm trying!!! I have to ship out my header to Tim, and wait on the Jim's tool to get my exhaust stud out. I'm going to go, but Brett & I will be leaving at like 6am on Sunday to make it to the races (if I can even get a ticket!) (Message edited by brinnutz on July 24, 2008) |

Either Indy_Bueller, myself, or some corporate event will happen. Give us a week or two to see if something "official" is going to happen and we'll plan from there. |

I couldn't find it there, but found a provisional schedule released yesterday. Indy is slated for Aug 30th. If there's enough interest, I can take the lead on getting a group sales together for 2009. Tickets are good for all three days. Special group block seating. Group name on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway video boards. One-time 10% savings at the Hall of Fame Museum Gift Shop for each person in your group. Special V.I.P parking for your motorcycle. Parade lap on your personal motorcycle around the GP course.
