First I went to the big bad chopper shop. As per usual, younger, clean cut guy, nobody even speaks to me.

Doesn't matter to me, the only reason I was there was to see if the leather guy was done with my jacket yet, he was not.

Then I'm headed home, a mile from the Buell dealership, I pass an 1125r going the other way! I get all giddy inside, and pull a U-turn, figuring I'll meet him at the dealership and talk a bit.

I cought up to him, and he had dealer tags... so I figure DAMN! Not a new owner... buuuut, maybe they'll let me test ride!

Guy takes it into the service area, and wouldn't even talk to me! Just starts talking to another service guy right next to me, like I wasn't even there, let alone was talking to him.

Jeesh. Screw all you guys! I'm going back to BadWeb!

We do demos all the time, as long as there is no snow, rain or ice. And you have your endorsement. I get to take one to track nite for opening nite. (not to run it through the traps, but just show it off to the gear heads)

My dealership doesn't normally let anyone ride anything.

Last year they did host the Buell demo fleet for a weekend.

Haven't heard anything about it for this year though.

Next time you this happens...... walk right passed him and grab a ball peen hammer off one of their benches, go back over to him and say "Hey douche bag, take a bow". At which point you hit him square in the prick. Then drop it on his foot, flip him and his buddies off, and leave.

Oh Please, you think you've been treated bad at a bike shop.

It is far worst if you're a young female, when I tried to buy my first buell. The sales dude, looked me up and down and walked away. At the next dealership it took me 45 minutes to get someone to talk to me. Then I got "just pick the color you like best, honey."

When I was in my 20's, the local BMW shop (now defunct) treated me the same way.
To this day I've not owned one either.

I guess thats where I would leave to. We have a Jap, BMW, KTM dealer here in Wichita thats that way.
The only way he has stayed in business is that he bought out his Competition.

Once you have decided on a model, that is all thats left

I had to buy my Firebolt without a test drive. All that HD of Tucson would let me do is sit on it. I was blown off by one salesman, but then I had another salesman that was very helpful. I guess you just have to talk to the right person...good luck figuring out which one that is.

Like I've said in previous posts, not specifically about this but similar. The only thing that will get their attention is hit them in the pocketbook. There are too many restaurants, dealerships, (bike and car) and service related businesses to put up with poor service. There are several eateries, service stations and dealerships that I will never darken the door of again, simply because the service sucked. I realize it's harder sometimes with the dealerships with some being few and far between but that's what makes online shopping so nice, and it comes directly to the house.
Just my $.02.

And according to her profile she chose blue: )

Back in the 80s I was driving for a roofing contractor, those guys earned mega-money up on the beams with no safety net.
3 of us went into the Renault dealer because one of the lads fancied the GTA Alpine, it was a Saturday afternoon,& we'd just come off a site. The salesman wouldn't even unlock the car for us to look inside, just told us to f**k off & stop wasting his time, I stepped back & watched the fun, one of them pulled out a wad of cash as thick as my leg & waved it under the blokes nose, while the other (a paddy) reared back then laid the fella out with one punch.
The next week the lad with the wedge, pulled up outside the place with a brand new GTA he'd bought at a rival dealer, then called the bloke everything from a pig to a dog, in front of an amused crowd of mechanics & customers.

Happy days indeed.

I finally went with the blue city x, but at the time the dude, said that to me I was still debating going with the XB12SX which was black.

I only wanted patches sewn on my NON-Vanson jackets.

but they're not a leather shop, they're a vanson shop. you can get patches sewn on at many tailors/seamstresses. there is also always a booth, often several, at every motorcycle rally that can sew them on at their booth.

if they werent busy, i can see where they might take on a patch sewing job. but my guess is that they're super busy, and their priority is to take care of vanson customers. and IMHO, as an owner of 2 vansons, rightfully so.

1/3 of my customers are women, and I mean riding in front, grabbing their own handle bars and having a good time. (How many women influence the sales to their husbands/boyfriends/significant other?~ a countless number!) I dont know how many times I have pulled a girl from looking at boots and jackets to riding her own bike, just by saying hello and being informative about her choices. And you know, I would rather to sell to women. Why? Because they are the only ones that ever come back with photos, ride plans, trip critiques to share with me. The just seem more genuinely excited about where the bike can go and do rather than the status of owning one. Your local results may vary. I know nationally they do . PS we do ladies nite once a quarter, that helps a lot.

'Girlie,i was there to get patches sewn first, but not foremost. They're a mere 15 miles from home.I'd ALWAYS wanted to use them/buy their product.

I finally gave them a chance to "wow" me and they slammed the door in my face.I NOW have an aversion to ANYTHING Vanson.THey conducted themselves poorly.

Now i'll hit them where it hurts, "Dyer" leathers

Mike, if you wait long enough, your order of cold revenge will be right up.

I like cold revenge. I had an idiot be rude to me until we rode together for the first time (this was in my pre-Buell days). He tried to buddy up to me later, but I was very cold to him and went out of my way to be friendly with other riders that despised him. Just another clown out there (not a good clown, like Cameron).

You'll get your revenge Mike. Probably in the best possible way.

a company should always look at you as a potential customer and not as a maybe. nothing does better than word of mouth imo.
