2003 Suzuki GSXR 750
55,700+ miles
Runs well, well kept

How much do y'all think this is worth?
A fair asking price is what I'm after.
Thanks!

No it's not my bike.

Cycletrader.com is showing me a bunch of 2001-2005 GSXR 750's in the $5500-$7000 range, but they all have low mileage around 15k on the odometer.

Myself, I'd probably ask $6000 and settle for $5500. It does have quite a lot of miles on it.

N.A.D.A says average retail being 5850, but with that many miles, I'd think more around 4,400-5,000.

Just my .02

I wouldn't be scared of the miles, but lots would, meaning that it will be hard to sell.

$4-4500 would be fair, I'd guess.

I sold my '04 Busa last summer for $5800 with 42K on it.

There is a 04 for 6300 on craigslist right now , and a 02 with low miles for 5300.

With that kind of mileage I wouldn't go more than $2000.00. Several reasons. It will probably need a complete top end job, clutch, chain, cables, tires. I would bet the suspension is shot.

If the bike had all that stuff done it would then be worth about $5,000.

High mileage bikes don't bring good money, there are too many low mileage bikes around.

Don't get me wrong about this particular bike. I certainly don't know the history, someone saying, in an ad, "its in good condition", is like saying, "the check is in the mail". I speak in generalities.

Most of the folks on this web have bought and sold many motorcycles and cars, you know of what I speak.

I must admit it is a sharp looking bike, It may be worth it.

Now to let the cat out of the bag.

I was talking to a squid the other night, and all he could do was brag about his new bike.
He showed me no mercy in telling me how my bike wasn't worth shit.
I mostly just ignored him as he wasn't the only person around, although he was the loudest.
I asked him how much he thought his bike would be worth if it had as many miles as mine.
Evidently y'all agree with me with thinking that just about any bike taken care of, is four years old, and has north of 55K miles is worth about the same regardless of make.
I was recently offered 4-1/2K for my bike, so I'm feeling pretty good, not that I would ever sell my bike, I like it too much.
I may buy another, but this one is a keeper.
Oh, and my bike is north of 60Kmiles.
Might give it to my son one day...

I would take the XB with 60k on the clock over the GSXR with 55k any day. Talked to several Jap salesmen that have all said ( taken with a grain of salt) that even well maintained they wont last much over 50k miles.

I may be a little biased towards the XB but hey...we all are

I have a buddy who rides an '86 gsxr 750 with over 100k miles on the clock. No real mechanical failures in all that time, I've ridden it myself and it's still a great bike.

Suzuki turns out a fine product.

Right on Pwnzor! I have had several GSXR's with lotsa miles on them. If you maintain them they will last a long long time. I would give as much as 4000 for the bike in question though as I have seen them newer and cheaper. The 750 is a great bike, handles well and has the right mix of power and torque that you dont have to make it scream to reach that power. Ive had both the 750 and the 1100 as well as a 1000. The 11 and 1000 are way fast but you'll never use it as intended on the street. The 750 while milder is easier to ride IMHO because your not worried about spitting the back around after your exit of a corner. Very nice bikes just not my cup o tea. My back thanks me for giving them up. Best wishes no matter how you go.

Who was the "squid".
John, he lives across the street from Tim.
He's a squid, you don't have to use the "" for him, he's squid through and through.

Y'all are right about Suzuki, I had a Bandit before the XB, and I don't remember the miles when I sold it. It was well over 50K though. Most of my bikes before I found Buell were either Suzuki or Kawasaki, I liked them all. Never had any real problems with any of my bikes. Well the Bandit would go through oil like nobody's business just before oil change time. I had a GS that had ignition issues until I gave up and bought new coils. The Kawis were bullet proof.
