Court, I like that, almost like suffering from PMS=Parked Motorcycle Syndrome. Throw Spidey at her first, he is the youngest. I am ducking out of that one, besides I still got snow & ice up here, who the heck (wanted to be a lot more explicit but Moderators get upset when a lot of bad language is used) wants to come up this way this time of year. I did get bike fever this weekend and did remove most of the snow & ice from the front of the garage in anticipation. Its pretty wild when I cut the snow bank straight down you can see how many times it snowed from the different layers going down through the bank. I just may have to take a pic. Where did I put the snow, well after breaking it up a bit I just directed the chute of the snowblower over the fence and let er rip. |

Sunday it got up to the fifties! I had Iron discipline though (I'm an Idiot) and left my battery home to avoid temptation. I promised myself to wait till the first good rain had cleaned off some of the Salt drift on the road. (I'm lazy) After several hours of hack, hack through the ice bank (25 feet long, waist high) keeping my M2 captive (at friends garage) I finally got to chip the door open & fondle the beast. Gazed longingly at her & I have to ask. Does ANYBODY put that plastic heatshield on the right side back on after pulling the battery?? Working late till Thurs. so going to ride a bit this week anyhoo. |

I did, if not you will risk burning whatever touches it. I feel your pain about the ice bank, but I could only hope for temps in the 50's. At this point I would ride in that but the salt thing as well, one more month to go. |

Asquire, Fondled the Beast ? Is that a Newfoundland national pastime ? I am starting Newfie's page or he may slip into permanent dimentia as we all start to ride. This weekend I believe I will ride to Bonduel and the first Wolf River BRAG Meeting. World of Wheels (the motorcycle part anyway) gig was cancelled because some strange policy. Char PS Spidey, your pants were already tight when I talked to you last night and you really couldn't hide all that heavy breathing. LOL ! |

You guys are Sick Sick Sick, Poking fun at my misery up her in the ice encrusted land. Take it to the NC-17 thread or GET A ROOM I'd say "World of Wheels" knew a sexually frustrated female who gets off on pagan ritualistic tree dancing and midnight skinny dipping was on her way and they changed the venue without telling her in order to protect the inncoent easily led young boys(men). That would have been a meat market for some sort of the equivalent of leading the lambs to the slaughter. I wonder who that could be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This winter is really starting to get to me - at least I can get into the garage to Fondle the Beast |

"Does ANYBODY put that plastic heatshield on the right side back on after pulling the battery??" Nope, not me. Took it off to remove the battery in the fall of 2001 and it's never been back on the bike. |

Every Airplane Homebuilder has that special moment, when there is enough done to sit in the cockpit, pretend to grasp the stick, and make engine noises with their lips. (Any freudian references are nomenclature related and NOT MY FAULT! ) The M2 rolled out of the garage, I sat on it, played v-twin sounds in my minds ear, wiped "dust" off the bike and put it away until I can ride without falling on the Ice covering the rest of the driveway. Nothing filthy about that is there?? (note to self, watch language ) ( fondle, fondle ) |

I don't think "FONDLE" is an x-rated word unless used in some kind of wierd context such as "While asleep I was fondled!! by my wife of course. As for the heat shield mine went back on as once I had a bad experience with a set of soft saddle bags and a Supertrapp Exhaust on my old KLR650. I was afraid the rear pipe would burn my riding gear so it went back on. As for the S1, I was out for another visit today, drained the old oil, new filter, etc, etc. Next is to change the primary tensioner as I think I have the old style and there is now 19,000km on it. A bit of preventative maintenance. More snow here today so all I can do is hope for some mild weather. |

I didn't even know the S1 had a heat shield. I know the X1 doesn't. The rear cylinder area is wide open the way nature intended it. Of course, you are sitting a little farther back. The weather is crappy here today. No snow, just cold rain. It's supposed to be nice this weekend though! |

Today the temp was around 5 celsius and when I had the S1 back together, I put some fresh gas in the tank and hit the starter and she came to life. While I let it get to operating temp I went to surfey the street and found it to be dry, minutes later I was out of the garage, across the ice laden driveway (that was fun) then to the street. Drove about 10k to a gas station - had a lot of real strange looks then back home. Couple wheelies, a burnout in front of the house then back to the garage. Did it ever feel good!!!!!!!!! Oh well only about 3 weeks before I will be able to ride every day. |

I rode out the nastiest of powerslides today. The rest of the bike was almost perpendicular to the front wheel. Feels pretty good to ride that one out! I put a Transformers Decepticon decal on the flyscreen today. Really brings out her personality. |
