2006 SUPERDUKE....
10 990cc Superdukes were bought and brought into the States as Grey market vehicles.Registered in Washington,Scott Page and I ran into one yesterday.May be released here in March 2006.Great build quality but Body is FUGLY!!!Doesn't look real bad in flat black but imagine in Orange??....Enjoy!!

WhitePower Forks!!

Massive exhaust....good candidate for Under-engine Exhaust!!

Heres Scott in his Seca bought jacket, gloves and boots saying"would my new duds look good on the Superduke?would the Superduke make me look skinnier??...no,Scott...but that t-shirt hanging out looks weird!!!.....
P.S....These people want $16,000 dollars for this bike.I may know someone whom want's it,so,Email me if your interested too!!...(I think I'll wait till someone shows me better looking plastic!)...hint...hint

Seems like the bulk of our sportbike buying populace here like the replica superbike look. I don't know if the SuperDuke will do well or not. But, it's flat black and it's a KTM. It's bad. Nuff said.

Thanks for the pics. I'm not fond of their yellow, even when it's limited to the instruments. I've never liked their paint schemes or their bodywork.
Their bikes are very functional, with top quality components. A centerstand would be nice on a chain drive bike.

Less is more, especially in bodywork. KTM fails that miserably.

I felt similarly about the X1 though, so what do I know.

Thanks for posting the pics EBear! Interesting stuff.

Anyone remember how long since the first press teasers were released and we have been waiting for the Super Duke to hit the market over here? Like two years now?

Be aware that KTM has been emphatic that no "grey market" SuperDukes can be serviced by an authorized KTM dealer here in North America.

There was a Super Duke in Washingtom on ebay at least three different times, or maybe it was three different Super Dukes. I seem to recall that they had to be registered as something other than what they actually are.

I read somewhere that KTM has some kind of legal(?) action specifically against gray market KTM's that have shown up here.

Dan,

Just like a Non Buell Harley Retailer is not allowed to Warranty Service a Buell Product!!!!

All a load of Poopie!!!

I had that experience with my S1 which is why I am very very weary about buying another Buell. There is one Harley Retailer on this island with the nearest Buell Retailer being 1600km and an 8hr boat ride. The Harley Guy is one of the best mechanics I know but is not allowed to warranty service the Buell Line.

What kind of Crap is that!!!!!!

How about a special HD/Buell factory dispensation for Newfie? Not like he has much choice!

HaHaHa,

Always makes for a good ride, but if the bike is un-rideable then one hell of a push!!!!!

Fact of the matter is that I have know many others that would love to own a Buell but its the whole lack of warranty service thing.

Hey Anon are YOU LISTENING.

By the Way that SUPERDUKE is simply amazing!!!!

Build quality on the Superdukes is amazing, as is the list of original equipment suppliers.

The 950 Adventure has suffered from head gasket failures, so hopefully this one and the new Supermoto 950 won't follow suit.

It would look much nicer with a Buell badge on though: )

I do think it would be cool to ride one.

Hope we get to see it here in SOCAL someday. I have been hearing about this bike since I was a boy ............

Yea, we've all heard that Paul Revere-like "the Super Duke is coming, the Super Duke is coming" for years now. Ho-hum. I could have bought hunks of billet and machined my own by now. I think they started with teasers for this thing shortly after the earth cooled or something like that. Here's a hint, don't promo a new model until months not years before it's ready to show up on showroom floors.

Real neat bike. The British bike mag BIKE did a multi bike shootout including the SuperDuke and they mentoned that the most they got out of a tank of gas was 75 miles! That would be a problem for me.

I like the Tuono in the bottom pic. Ask him if he'd like to trade it for 9R even up.

....yea right. Now back to reality.

The Duke II is a VERY nice ride.

Ergonomics are very comfortable, power is amazing and the handling is as natural & neutral as I have ever ridden (15 years).

As rocket stated, in the flesh they are actually nice - the styling needs a bit of work but I imagine that the CF half fairing will do the trick. Also they have a larger tank option so no biggie.

If you don't flog it you can easily get 100+ miles out of the tank before reserve so the range isn't unbearable.

Take one for a test ride - they are wonderful bikes.
