Can anyone shed some light as to why there are some notched frames and some not? Per updated iso install instructions, if a frame is not notched, iso is installed from the bottom. Which means the weight of the engine is resting on the two outboard bolts? If the updated iso is oriented correctly (flat part on top), How crucial is it if the iso sits on top of frame? | ||

The only Tuber it installs from the bottom, IIRC, I’ve run into is the S2. Maybe some very early S1s are notched. (Message edited by Williamscottrobertson on May 26, 2019) | ||

My 96 s1 is notched. My s1w is not. My sons 99 m2 is. Wheres the logic behind this?  | ||

My s1w is in fact notched. I apologize for being a tard. Not sure what i was thinking. Im still curious as to the reasoning behind this notch thing. Is it just a little extra space for a tool to remove iso? | ||

I had serious “issue (?)” with hanging the isolator and therefore the engine from those small bolts I consider to be “locator” bolts for proper positioning.... I put the isolator on top to let the frame carry the structural load on my S2 without issue. Remember... you are following instructions from a company who dissolved Buell... then copied his work and slowly fed it back into emerging bikes... same company that builds cruisers and thinks they can enter the ADV market with what appears to be a tank... Or use your best judgement and this forum... | ||
