Hi everyone, I just purchased a new MotoIllumination headlight for my '99 M2 and I'm having a little trouble getting it hooked up correctly. The headlight came with a standard H4 connection but I can't seem to get it to work like it is supposed to. The headlight has a halo ring around it which I'm supposed to splice onto the lowbeam wire. Before attaching anything permanently I wanted to make sure it works right, so I just shoved the white halo wire into the H4 connection and turned it on. I can only get the halo or the lowbeam to come on seperately, not at the same time. I also cannot get the highbeam to come on at all, but the lowbeam or halo do switch off when I hit the highbeam switch.

I've never had a problem with my highbeam or lowbeam before, and I tested the headlight harness with the multimeter and everything seems to be working fine. I called a friend who is a little more mechanically inclined then me to pick his brain about the subject, and he told me it could be the headlight relay. Apparently I would need to find a headlight relay that can support LED's, but I wanted to check here to see if anyone else has an idea.

The headlight was packaged very well and I was told they test every light before sending them out. I am assuming the headlight works correctly and want to save shipping it back across the country as a last option. Does anyone have an ideas I could work with here? We have 2 feet of snow on the ground at the moment and I would really like to be out on the road with a fresh new LED headlight when it is gone.

I think that you have to connect the white halo wire to the connector from the small city light/position 5w light.
And the other wires to highbeam ,lowbeam and ground.

Also keep in mind, LED are polarity-specific. Hook ground and power up backwards, and they won't work (where an incandescent bulb doesn't care which way they're hooked up).
