my sidebags on my s2 are ok but the seals are going. was wondering if anyone has bolted up HD or aftermarket hard/soft bags to the buell brackets and had good experiene ?

I am also curious.
BTW, if yours are factory S2 bags with just worn weather strips, get seals at macmaster(same shape in gray color available, I will look up part number if anyone is interested) and 1/4 " adhesive transfer tape. Should be good for another 10 years if covers do not open on the highway.

Mcmaster part number is 1142A18. Dimension is almost identical but color is gray. Here is link:

...and this will keep them from opening. Knurled nuts from the hardware aisle at Lowe's (same as factory), and a pair of OEM saddlebag lid retaining cables (they hold the lid when you open the bag). Cables are probably discontinued now, but you can make "others" to use for the actual lid support and put the nice, cleanly made factory cables on as these closure straps.
