I keep suspecting I might have an intake leak (slight wandering idle, occasional backfire on warm up, slightly slower return to idle) but keep second guessing myself. Decided to shoot a 15 second video and see what the badweb thinks: http://vimeo.com/89810580 Note: I shot the video after 20 mins of riding and 3 min of idling. |

Batt terms are as tight as I can reasonably get them. I could take another video of a rev and a snap off the throttle, if that would be helpful. Reason I have this question is not because my bike is running terribly. It's because I've ridden a nearly identical bike that has a better throttle response. Longer story is that my step dad has a '99 X1 in Oregon (I'm on east coast) and whenever I'm visiting, back home, I have always noticed that his Buell is a little peppier and more responsive. Knowing what my bike is capable of, but never getting there, has driven me a little nuts. And for the record, I'm more reliable with maintenance and upkeep. Don't get me wrong though – at the end of the day, "slightly less peppy" is still a hell of a lot of fun |

Something easy to try: Warm it up again and lower the idle speed to 950. If that doesn't work for you, perhaps something is a little wrong. |

Lot of things can contribute to the pep factor. Aside from the differences in the overall conditions of the bikes, the intake, exhaust, or fuel maps each can make a difference in butt feel. |

@Natexlh1000 - Thanks, I'll try that. @Kalali -The bikes are pretty similar in many respects. Both have forcewinder intakes, default race maps, his has stock can, mine has VH. One is 99 other is 02. |
