With a little work anything is possible. Any legal issues arising from the grey import may make it a parts donor. I always lean toward saving them, but the community needs parts too.

It looks like it needs a little TLC, looks like it could be pretty easy to get it back together.

I posted these comments in the other thread.

My concerns could all be eradicated depending on when the bike was grey imported into Australia, however.

Not sure what the sticker means. It could be part of the Japanese inspection process as I do not recall it being a factory installed sticker on the Japanese bikes, but that's not a guarantee that it wasn't.

As an FYI, here's a (resized) scan of one of the Japanese warning labels that was factory installed on Japanese spec bikes:

Japanese Warning Label

If I recall correctly it went on one of the 'horizontal' lower frame tubes, but I can't recall if it went on the shifter side or exhaust side.

An updated '99 parts manual, or a later ('00-'02) parts manual should show all the labels and markings for all configurations (DOM, JPN, HDI, etc.).

My 2 cents from the previous thread - expounded upon,

If you get it for the right price, it looks like it can be a fun project. Well worth the time anyway.
