Ok, tearing the S3 apart again (leaking base gasket on rear cylinder) and noticed something - there was/is some goo around the wires coming out of the gastank where the fuel pump etc is
Is/Was it just silicone?
While pulling the tank the stuff was just coming off everytime my hand brused against it, I'd like to replace it.

Thanks for advice/help

Hylomar, the blue-ish green sealant, is used under the tank cap on early tube frames, but I don't recall anything being used on the pump exits.

Yeah this is a yellowish color around the wires coming out of the tank

It isnt currently leaking, but if I can reapply something to help prevent future issues then that'd be great.

Again, this is not where the fuel exits, but just behind it (towards seat) two or three inches where a few wires are coming out of the tank for the fuel pump
