I noticed that most exhausts on other tubers have flanges (i think 2) that connect from the frame to the exhaust can. My 2000 M2 has a flat U channel with 2 bolt holes that mount straight down onto the can. I just cracked my force pipe and want to replace with a D&D but I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to mount it. |

The D&D should bolt on with the factory z-bracket in the rear and the front welded tab bolted to the front exhaust hanger. Pix of what you have would help |

Sounds like you are talking about the rear mount for a vance&hinds. (not stock). |

On my x1 there is a z bracket that mounts to a plate that has two exhaust clamps holding the canister. I was using a supertrap can and it was heavy and i had to fab up a thicker plate to hold that can up! |

I will have to post pics after work. The V&H was on my bike when I got it. I'm thinking a bracket was removed from the bike to accommodate the V&H. |

Nevermind, I'm a dumby. What I was looking at was a bracket (or rear mount like Randy said and Ii didn't pick up on) that attaches to the V&H can. If I remove it, the D&D will mount right up. Thanks for the help anyway. (Message edited by psyclown on August 03, 2011) |
