Hi,

Do you now where it's possible to find adapters for mount a Brembo calipers, with 65 mm mounting, on a Buell X1 fork ?

for the both side of the fork .

Or if you have a schema to build it i'm also interested.

Have a nice day.

posting a picture of your calipers would help to understand what you're talking about.
where do this calipers come from? for which bike are they intended?

There used to be some adapters to mount alternative calipers so it would be possible to mount a reasonably priced dual disc setup. Id buy a set if someone made the adapters. As far as i know there are complete kits available but they cost as much as a running tuber. At that price id buy another Buell and run the stock brake.

in my experience, the best way to get a double disc front brake set up, would be to purchase 2 Nissin calipers for MV Agusta Brutale or F4. they use exactly the same type of caliper we use on our tube frame Buells.
then you would have someone to build the adapters cause the measurements on our forks are slightly different than the Marzocchi used on the italian bikes.
but that's an easy task for a fair machine guy.
with relatively few bucks you can have a double disk set up that resemble the stock one.
I sill have a set here that used to be mounted on my Brutale 910 S that are waiting to be mounted on my X1.
probably this would be my next project once I'm done with the S1...

Hi,

Thanks to all for your answers.

My original project is to use Brembo calipers 65mm mount from a ducaty 749 with adapters.

The calipers I allerady have :

It's for a Buell S1, but with a X1 fork.

A friend have made adapters for the sames calipers for his buell, but he haven't recovers his plans for the moment.

So, THE_italian_job, you confirm to me that if I buy Nissin calipers from a MV I can set it directly on my X1 fort without adapters or settings and use the original brakes rotors ?

Do you think this ones can fit :

Callipers from a 2006 910 MV

- Do you think the brakes rotors from MV can also be set on buell front wheel ?

Thanks for your help.

Have a nice day.

Hi Chris,

As far as my screen name in french he have a signification just for people who have a small english language knowledge or who loves the Sex pistols ... ; )

As far as the NISSIN Callipers from MV Agusta I think it is necessary to find models with 90mm spacing mount, like the buell one.

Because lot's of MV ave 75mm spacing mount calippers no ?

Thanks.

As far as i'm aware MV never had calipers with 90mm spacing, only the 75mm spacing.

When TIJ gets spacers made up for his MV calipers i'm hoping to get a set off him at the same time.

Ok Thanks Nallac.

As far as the spacers for MV calipers if you allready have plan I'm interested to see what this looks like.

And as far as the Nissin with 90mm spacing, they really look similar to the original buell one.

Do you think this calipers can fit on a X1 fork for the both sides without spacers ?

as stated from me in my post, you need adapters to fit the MV calipers.
but it should be easy to adapt them on the forks once you've found a machine guy.
I have one who's going to make modifications on the new OZ wheels I bought for my S1.
once I'm done with it, I'll probably have him built these adapters for the MV calipers.
if I get that done, I will advice here so I can have him build a bunch of them for whoever is interested. ; )

I'm Also probably interested by this adapters ...

But I would likt to now or test if the Nissin or the Tokico in 90 mm, like the one above, can set directly without adapters.

Have you an idea ?

Bollox, I have a right and left Nissen caliper like the one in your photo. I bought them on the recommendation that they would bolt on. The bolt holes are the right distance apart, but the spacing is wrong. It will be no easier to use them than any other caliper.

Hi Maru,
Thanks for your experience.

I had thinking it will be easy to set the nissin with 90mm mounting on the X1 fork, with eventually some washers.

Can you say if it's not possible with just washers ?

If those callipers also need adapters to fit, it's not very interesting beause it's harder to find 90mm mounting than the 75mm of the MV.

So,

just a little UP to know if someone have informations about adapters for brembo 65mm mount on a buell fork ...

I had found this old message : http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=21&post=902974

But I think the rotor used is 320mm and not 340 like the buell ones.
