Did anything change with the pushrods length on the 1250 kit. I don't think so but just gonna make sure.

nope. just new cylinders with a larger than stock bore, and pistons with a higher dome. All of it fits into stock cases with stock heads on top.

Most places that sell 1250 kits advertise that max potential of the kit will be awakened only with aftermarket cams. That's probably the case, but I like my '02 X1 just fine with the 1250 kit and stock cams. The 10.5:1 compression alone offers a noticeable increase in power and an exhaust note that is downright scary coming through a D&D slip-on.

Pkforbes87, did you need a custom tune or are you running the Race ECM?
Thanks

Race ECM was too lean : p. IIRC, I bumped every cell in the fuel maps up by 5% and got AFV to stabilize VERY close to 100.

It's not as good as a proper tune via dyno time and a wide band O2 sensor, but it will keep the engine together.

btw, my X1 is running a forcewinder intake and D&D exhaust - both of which are about as free-breathing as you can get.

If you have a more restrictive setup on either the intake or exhaust end, you may not need fuel maps quite as rich as I have.

I have the 1250 kit also and stage 2 XB\XL heads smaller valve stemmed valves 7mm down from 10mm, XB single beehive springs, force winder intake and a full D&D race exhaust kit. And the ecm has been custom mapped and dyno tuned with ecm spy. It puts out 135 @ the motor and 117 at the rear tire. Also the rev limiter has been bumped up to 6900 rpm.

Edit i forgot to mention that i am running the screaming eagle .536 cams
