Have any of you guys\gals had an injector start leaking? I was at a track day last weak and the rear injector started leaking when i started the bike. I grabbed it and rotated it a couple times back and forth and it stopped leaking???

I have 4 more injectors sitting in the parts bin\drawer.

Leaking like bad o-rings or leaking like the injector is not shutting off or closing? Not a real big deal to replace the o-rings or swap out an injector.

Swapping is easy i know, But i have never seen one leak. The leak was an external leak and it was leaking pretty fast. I have taken some of these injectors apart to clean them before. It was almost like the injector was leaking in the middle where they come apart. There is a little micro screen inside the injector. But i have never taken apart that particular injector. But it is a re-used injector from a dead bike.

Maybe it has a micro crack in the casing.

How do they come apart for cleaning? I have a pair I was going to send out for cleaning.

You need 2 pairs of pliers or a vise and 1 pair of pliers and just pull real hard and they will come apart, BUT BE CAREFUL THERE IS A SPRING IN THERE THAT WILL GO FLYING! Then just pull out the micro screen and clean it. Also clean the injector from the nozzle side back into the injector or it will get plugged up. Very simple design on these injectors. They will come apart you just have have a good hold on it and some patience. I can't remember if you pull the top of it of the bottom of it off, I think it is the bottom.

Those o-rings get old and hard. Had a few leak, and if you don't get the injector back in correctly it can spew. Is the little hold down bracket still there and tight?
