I need to replace my crankshaft in my 2000 M2 would it be wise to replace it with the older rebuildable one

may not fit, if it does, any thing that is repairable is better than throw-away

It will fit, and that is a great Idea.

BUT

If I were you I would spend the extra cash and get a S&S built crank or similar...

Wile the newer press pin cranks are able to be 'rebuilt' I think snake is referring to is the older cranks with the large nut that a 'shade tree' mechanic could re-build without a press...
