my tires showed up this week, shipped from motorcycle superstore. great company. right here in oregon and fast shipping. i bought the continental road attack tires based on the awesome tread pattern and great reviews. should be able to get them mounted in the next week or so. can't ride the bike until ironmachine decides to ship my voltage regulator i also got a buell xb tail bag off of craigslist for $30. just had to add a small bolt under the seat to mount and if fits great. very tight and fits the seat and curves like it was made for it. Looks good! I had the Conti Road Attacks and really liked them, they did great on the track and road. Preybird1 runs those same ones I believe. | ||

I am very happy with the Road Attacks since I've been useing them, I dont think I will get much more than 3000 miles from the rear though, mind you I think we have a much coarser chip in our roads than you guys | ||

Just be careful for the first couple of hundred miles until the tires break in. The bag looks great too. Is it an "off the shelf" XB bag sold at the dealer? | ||

You're gonna love those tires. I'm currently running a Sport Attack Front and Road Attack rear on my 9. They've held up really well on the road and on the track. I was able to break traction on the RA rear towards the end of my track day but it stayed nice and controllable, making it more fun than scary. I later realized that the conti's are better if you keep the psi high (38-42psi) (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on January 21, 2010) | ||

Didn't think to mention the tire pressure... I run the recommended tire pressures for my M2 from Continental's website 35 psig front (2.4 bar) and 42 psig rear (2.9 bar). The tire wears just about right for me with these pressures, your results may vary. Check out http://www.conti-fitmentguide.com/ to see what Continental recommends. Just keep in mind that the pressures provided on their site are in bars and need to be converted to psi. | ||

I got a set of Road Attacks when I had my Firebolt and noticed dry-rot like cracks in the tread grooves within about 5 months... kinda a leaves a sour taste in my mouth. They did ride real nice, though. | ||

"35 psig front (2.4 bar) and 42 psig rear (2.9 bar)" Sorry I'm now a bit confused. Do you guys use the pressure recommended by Buell (in the OM) or by the tire manufacturer? I always use (cars and bikes alike) what is in the OM not what's on the side of the tire. |
