I LOVE IT : D

everytime i get off that bike i have a nice grin on my face. even when its just a trivial short ride and i keep off the throttle...

it just makes me sad that i dont have a bunch of extra money to make the thing look as nice as it runs.... but i do have plans for it...

just got myself all new gear for xmas, so i look better than the bike now lol

Ricky, how'd the conversion go? I take it well? Haven't heard from ya in a while buddy, glad the bike's runnin' good. I know how you feel about the gear, too. I bought new gear a few months back, just waiting to getto try it out lol.

the conversion went superb. i had a few hickups but it was much easier than i anticipated.

rocker covers... went down to napa and found that FORD f150 pcv's fit perfectly. i ran the two pcv's from both valve covers to a T and then to a breather filter.

front engine mount... the long bolt that runs through the isolator came loose in a bout 50 miles. then i tightened it so tight i broke it in half... found a grade 9 at the hardware store and red locktighted it and torqued it to about 150lbs. no problems since, no loctight was used on the stock bolt

tuning... SIMPLE! took me a day or so, had to reshim the needle valve after having the carb apart for complete disassembly and cleaning. after reading the dynojet instructions like the bible i was able to dial the needle in perfectly. .48 slow, 195 main seems to run great. i dont have any mains larger than 195 but i tried 180/185/190 as well. 190 and 195 i cant tell any difference, so im guessing its spot on, must be the more efficient combustion chamber... requires less fuel for equal/more power. i also ran into an issue with a stuck float...

for someone that has no experience in Vtwin dissassembly or reassembly, OR carbs i think i did pretty good. if i were to do the conversion again, i think i could do it twice as fast with less hiccups lol

i have also been getting a solid ~55-60MPG
and it feels a little bit faster. not by much. if anything i feel like i lost some down low to gain a few up top.

cams should remedy this tho. which are planned for summer. something around a .6" lift will do.

im kind of wishing i went with the xb9 pistons since it wasnt the extra kick in the pants i was hoping for. but hopefully i'll like the power with the cams
