No more broken motor mount bolt buried in the head. Yahoo!!

My older brother is a Welding Wizard! He plug TIG welded a washer to the broken off bolt, which was recessed in the head a least .060" and then welded a bolt to the washer. He said it broke the welded on bolt 5 times before the broke off bolt broke loose. The best part is the he did this without me having to pull the head! He is my Hero!!!

Next is installing the NRHS motor mount, new bolts from American Sport Bike and new isolators front and rear. Then I'll have ole Betty Blue back on the road.

THAT is awesome. The technique is a prime candidate for the KV as well.

Not easy to do. Make sure your brother gets a nice gift certificate for dinner for two or make him one of those pretty seats.

Yes, lucky for me to have a brother with craftsmanship skills like that.

We swap skills out on a regular basis. I'm his resident computer geek, and I'm sure I'll be doing some custom muscle car interior in the future.

Wow. That is a good job of welding. I found a friend with a TIG unit, I'm looking for an excuse to go over and learn how to use it...

Smart to use a washer as well... makes it easy to work from the inside out and get a good strong weld. The heat cycles no doubt help get the bolt out as well.
