American SportBike has stainless steel brake line kits. Don't know where to get stock lines. When something breaks, its the perfect time to upgrade. |

The stainless line is a good upgrade for better modulation. If you ever sell the S1 you can swap it over to the Atom disc on that Apple Krate, it will help you make the turnaround after those 200+ mph runs. |

>>>>any alternative suggestions? My initial thought is "yes, find a new dealer". But I'll know for sure in a bit, I am checking stock. I'd be VERY surprised if it were not available. |

A hose specialty shop built a stainless line for me using the stock part's fittings, cost was $45ish I think. Just another option for ya, if you decide to upgrade... |

Thanks for the offer Eshardball....unfortunately I read your post AFTER I picked up a stock line (special order) from the dealer....Not really concerned that it's the old hose style as opposed to braided....I rarely use the rear brake... Now if someone could tell me where I could find one of the pins that hold the pads in the front brake caliper....one of mine popped out on the highway yesterday (I didn't put one of the cotter pins back in, so it decided to wiggle free....HEEEHAWWWW!!!!) I went to the dealer...they don't have them...or even a part # for them.... Suggestions? (other than: be more careful next time) |

Best bet for a cotter pin setup would be a local ag store. I was buying new mower blades yesterday and noticed they had a whole display cart FULL of different size pins, for 3 point hitches, trailer gates, you name it. Pull your remaining one, take with for a size match. I just need the threaded one that goes through the middle of a '95 S2 PM caliper. I have the slip-pins (held in with a bent piece of coathangar - I kid you not) but don't have the threaded one down the center. <shrug> Brake works fine though. |
