my wife and i just looked at a 08 Nightster and it has flat black pipes on it but someone rode it with sweatpants on and now there is some shit melted on the pipes and was wondering what would work to take that off without ruining the flat finish any help would be appreciated

I would heat it up and use a silicone pancake flipper to scrape it off. The cook silicone has a very high melting point. I think it can go over 300 degrees.

I answered your other post but, now that I have read Hugie03flhr's answer above, I like his answer better than mine.

Try his method first. It wont hurt your coating and it sounds like a great idea.
