When I purchased my X1 a few months ago it already had the Carbon Fiber Underseat Panel from american sportbike. The problem is that the seat lock is un usable. When you turn the key the entire assembly rotates. Is there a tip on how to correct this? The jam nut is run down tight. I am figuring I "could" epoxy it or something to stay in place. At this point the cable is routed to where I tug on it to get to my under seat storage area. I would love to upgrade to a nicer seat but if it fits tighter to the bike then I won't be able to access this area unless I can get the lock working

I could try that, seems obvious I guess. I didn't know if maybe it was screwed. I mean should the hole be completely round or should it have a flat edge? Is that all it is relying on is compression?

Bryan - if it's like my S2, there should be at least one flat side on the hole. It was worn out on my S2 as well, the lock just spun. So...

I took a piece of flat metal (part of a car stereo cage, actually) and cut it down to about 1.5"x3". I made one hole with a dremel to match the lock cylinder - round, but with 2 flat sides. Basically, a long, flat washer. Then I installed it on the bike.

Once it was installed and I knew it was operational, I drilled one hole, about 1.5" away from the lock cylinder, through the bodywork and the new metal tab/washer I made. I put a factory bodywork bolt through it, with a nylock nut on the other side, to keep my new washer/tab from spinning inside the bodywork. It was painful drilling a hole in a set of S2 bodywork, but my seat lock works now!
