OK i know that i have done it before but i am having a hell of a time getting my wheel/rim on. i have a manual. do you put the caliper on the swing arm and the put the wheel in it or the other way around? I dont seem to have enuf hands to do it on my own i think that i need to get a friend over to hold the caliper while i guide it in place. any tips tricks you guys use??? BLAKE | ||

position caliper on swing arm,( peg in slot ) roll wheel into position, line caliper up with wheel [ disk]. tip wheel up or down fit sprocket side spacer, insert axle, I am usualy seated on the floor behind the bike and can use my feet if needed to balance any thing. I usually use a wedge of some sort to keep the pads spread as I locate the rotor in place, or you can try to hang your caliper on the front bolt only and install your wheel, then set your caliper onto your rotor...eazy-peazy! | ||

Just replaced my swingarm bushings last night, so it's still fresh: Caliper bolt in slot in swingarm (caliper still attached, I pop the cap off the reservoir and pry the pads open) Roll wheel under swingarm, place belt on pulley Start axle thru left side of swingarm, and into caliper bracket to hold in place Put belt side spacer against pulley, lift wheel into place (sitting on floor behind bike as noted above) Shoot axle the rest of the way through, and torque. |
