So, I am thinking about selling my bike. Its a 98 S1, s&s super E carb, andrews cams, v&h exhaust, wrapped headers. It has 13k miles on it approx, i dont know the exact number as it is in storage and i am in iraq. What do you think i should ask for it? Its in good shape, runs really strong, no problems that i know of. I have all the plastic and everything, except for the hugger fender and belt guard stuff. Ill be back in mid august and i think im gonna sell it then. Thanks!

I'd say have her take the motorcycle safety class and get her her own ride.

HAHA I am not too sure about getting her on a motorcycle, let alone a bicycle! I got her a new bike to ride to her classes on campus, and shes had a few mishaps on that! I was thinking about asking 4k for the bike, It seems about on par with what I've seen other comparable bikes go for.

Last year I had a customer come through my shop for a tyre on his S2 which was carrying he and his lady from Sacramento on a tour through Death Valley and other western parts. He had ridden through the tread and into the chord(later finding out his nephew had been doing burn-outs) on the first leg of the trip. He himself was a smaller stature of a man but his girl was tall and beautifull. Sufice to say there tour was saved and they returned to Sydney Austrailia and were married four months later. Bottom line is, you can ride 2up on an S2...they did for five weeks!

Nix on the Flea-bay Miles try Craigslist.com. Too many bidders will scorch you on getting the best price, by the way, what do you think you'll ask...generally?

I was thinking $4000 would be my asking price, and that will include a size Large Buell Adventure jacket and a large Fulmer helmet. That seems to be what most of the other S1's are going for. Any other tips for selling this thing? Thanks for the advice!

Except for the Fulmer buket that's a good price if it looks good, keep in mind 80% of your sale depends on appearance. That, somehow equates to care and maintenance of the machine while in your posession...good luck!

I have taken really good care of the bike, new fluids as soon as I got it, new plugs. I wash the hell out of it every weekend when I'm home. I know the helmet is not the best quality, but it was snell and dot certified so I could ride on base.
