My '99 M2 blows the headlamp fuse at times and it seems to mostly occur when I first start up and get going and have the switch on high beam. Doesn't blow if I start the engine and ride a few miles on low beam and then switch to high beam. I have done the wiring harness wiggle drill and cannot make the fuse blow. One possibility I suppose could be the rectifier allowing too much output as a result of amps drawn and needing replenished from start up. Any other thoughts would be appreciated

Have you changed the lamp? Did the problem continue? Do you have to make sharp turns during the failure?

No pattern to the fuse blowing, that's what makes intermittent problems hard to diagnose. Haven't changed the bulb since it still works but it could be worth a try.

I had a 90 softail blow its head light at randomIt turned out to be the ground wire coming off the H-light making a bad ground. I used a heavy gauge wire and a good connector, No problem. I don't know were the M-2 head light ground but I'm sure it woundn't be hard too find.
