I have seen a lot of people talking about the ecm spy and this and that, but who is a pro at reprogramming maps? I am certainly not trying to provoke argument, but who here has actually used it on a dyno to make a map for a radically changed Buell and had good results? I need help with this because I and doing some major work (head work, 88", etc.) on my 2000 x1 and I will need to convince the guy with the dyno that this will work and is effective. I also need my own peace of mind. ANYONE have a map database, or saved maps?

I am not there yet as I want to add a bung to the front pipe so that I can data log both cylinders (tune it without a dyno). Hopefully someone will post and ease your concern, though you may want to try posting to either "quick board" or "XBoard" as they're are more of them using ECM SPY then us.

That said, have you read the ECM SPY tuning guide?
Running your bike on a dyno with a sniffer and remapping with ECM SPY is clearly detailed.
The limitations of DDFI for a highly modified Buell are the throttle body size (air flow), fuel injector size (lbs/hour), fuel pump (pressure and flow rate).

None of these limitations have anything to do with ECM SPY.
If you put higher capacity components in you FI system, ECM SPY could still be used to remap.

Remapping is remapping - anybody who is a professional and has remapped a FI ECM should adapt very quickly to ECM SPY.

Pump is a Walbro unit, so, if that is a limit, you can get a higher capacity pretty easily..

Injectors, can be built bigger(high flow rates, etc)...

And the throttle body can be bored, and a bigger throttle plate added...

But, once your tuner figures out the software, and KNOWS how to make appropriate changes, he should have NO problems tuning the bike...
