(M2 Cyclone)

My gas tank has been vibrating more than ever, making quite the racket vibrating on the frame rails, only around 1500rpm. The bike feels fine, so I don't think the isolators are bad. I added some felt over the frame rails to cushon it a bit. Any thoughts on this? It's tight at the back where it bolts down, but quite loose up front where it just 'locks' in. Before the felt, I could move the tank close to half an inch in there, the felt snugged it up, but it still moves a bit.

Also, maybe the same vibrating issue, one of the tabs where the tail section fits over a frame rail, under the gas tank broke completely off. I was going to epoxy it back on, but I just found it odd. There really shouldn't be any pressure on that at all. I know for a fact the gas tank doesn't even touch it.

You should have a pair of rubber "feet" that attach to the frame, in front of the widest point, to support the tank. They lift the tank a bit to keep the front tab up against the little frame notch thingy. If you're missing 'em, you can substitute with some pieces of old radiator hose.

I'm stumped on the cracked tailsection though...sorry.

I saw that, great price too, but I'm desperately trying to save some money right now... so was thinking about waiting till fall... hence the epoxy fix for now.

There were rubber feet, but I don't think they're actually touching the tank (flattened out over time?). I place the 1/4" felt pads over top of them, and they seem to work better.

I glued rubber strips under the tank to get rid of vibration and noise. I thought the glue would stick to the tank better than the frame rails. They haven't vibrated loose in 6 years now.

My front tailsection tabs that fit under the tank has some thin foam rubber glued to it from the factory. It doesn't look like it does much, but maybe it does.

I used electrical tape on the front of the tank that hooks in.
