Will a 2001 S3 rear shock fit correctly on a 97 S3? This is my 3rd rear shock (two were recall). The current shock was installed in Feb. 2001 and its worn out!

The soeedo drive unit stop turning 5 weeks ago at 98,000 miles. Maybe its should be worn out?

Yes it will if you have the correct front mount.
The late model shock is shorter, 14.5" vs 16" or so.
The new mount has the front shock mount closer to the rear wheel to keep the ride height correct.

Thanks, the recall shock on this model Buell measured about 14.5 inches unloaded. The installation sheet has a kit number for the mount on the 97 and 98 model, which is different from the other S3.

I believe it will fit correctly with the recall kit.
