I have a S2 that I am working through the kinks from the previous owner/s. My problem is that I hear a weird rubbing noise when in motion, coming from the drive pulley. Sometimes it goes away, but it pretty consistantly 'there'. I have grabbed and tried to wiggle the front drive pulley and it seems very slightly loose (about 1/32"), the shaft does not appear to wiggle and I don't see any metal shavings. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Put bike on a rear stand and spin wheel to see if you can isolate the sound. Could be as simple as a belt guard rubbing, ealy S-2 front pulleys had a thinner area of splines and were known to fail, pull it and look(Left handed threads BTW) and see if any rust/corrosion behind the output shaft seal, and how tight is your drive belt--it should be loose.

Had the same on mine going slow round corners, just adjusted my belt again
it was slightly off centre which made the belt track against the edge of the front pulley.
