A "fair" price varies by the seller and potential buyer -- Tubers have never had a great resale value --

somewhere between $3500 and $4500 would be in a price range than many have seen

Unfortunately for us owners Bomber is right on the average. That's the main reason I've kept my S3T. I couldn't part with it for that little. Heck I've put more than that in parts alone! The other unfortunate thing about the resale value is many of the great old tubers are being parted out or chopped up for custom chopper projects. It's really sad.

Now for the true Buell lovers out there looking to buy, it's a buyers market so save them while you can before they get parted out or chopped up!

well 2001 stocks i have seen go here for around 3500-4000 ebay you could maybe get 4500 for a late model x1 stock. The 1000 bucks in goodies does help but id agree. Id say 4500 would be fair. At 15 k if the motor was beat or misused there is a risk of needing a valve job. I would be tempted to run a simple quick compression test on both cyl.
