The best tire I have used on a Buell so far would have to be the Continental"Road Attack"My least favorite would be the Michelins and I would have to say the fastest wearing but best constructed tire is a Dunlop. If I had to have a tire and the Continental was not available I would run the Metzeler.Just my $.02

Bomber, I've had that splitting thing too (D205's). I've been considering Avons for my next set, but now that Dunlop is marketing the 616 (there's an ad in Sport Rider) I'm thinking of all the fire roads and stuff I could check out. Plus trying to keep up with Ferris on some twisty roads says those Uly tires stick...

i just bought a set of avon azaros for my M2 and i love them. they warm up quick, stick good, and have a nice profile. flat enough to scrub them in to the edges, but still round enough to have a nice turn in. that, and they look pretty darn good. nobody ever mentions that when talking about tires because people dont want to sound like they are into the form as much as the function, but i need my tires to look good. the avons work well/look cool.

just my .02

I recently put a pair of Z6's on my M2 and really like them. That is my first road bike in a long time and first new set of tires in a long time so I have no comparison other than the well worn and cupping (at 4,300 miles) D205's that came with the bike.

I found this Metzler brochure helpful in figuring out the the different tires. Looks like the Z6 is a good choice for my riding style and the M2.

I bought a set of Dunlop D220's last season and have about 3500 miles on them now. They look good enough for another season. I have used the entire width of the tread in the back and they seem to be wearing evenly. They also grip well in varying temps-I ride from early April up until freezing here in MA. Of course your wear may be different depending on how you ride, i.e. I don't pull holeshots or powerbrake, etc.
