What gets me about the tanks is....the display is two (that's 2, as in one more than one) M1 Abrams and two (same thing - 2 pieces) armored troop carriers...IN A STATIC DISPLAY ON THE MALL.

They're not going to be "rolling down Constitution Avenue", at least not in any of the official reports/interviews with ACTUAL government officials involved with the ceremony.

But I love the Imperial Walkers meme!

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/07/hyste rical_lies_about_trumps_salute_to_america.html

Time for the Dems to take on Waco & Ruby Ridge? How about some committee action to investigate the apparent political murder of dozens by tanks and toxic gas? After all, they can blame Trump on MSNBC ( like Obama's cages ) and count on their belief that their audience is too stupid to understand dates.

It's easy, Trump, tanks, Waco, his fault.

The biggest power of editors is choosing what not to publish. They can just not mention dates and who's regime it was.

RSBN, Fox10 and OAN Will Broadcast DC July 4th Celebration Throughout Events – Livestream Links
CTH - July 4, 2019

ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC have all announced their refusal -and broadcast boycott- of any July 4th celebrations. Yes, the U.S. media have fallen so far, they are now openly proclaiming their alignment with the anti-American political resistance.

However, RSBN, Fox10 Phoenix and OANN will all broadcast the patriotic events from Washington DC to celebrate Independence Day, including President Trump’s participation in the 2019 Salute to America. Schedule of Events Here – Livestream Links Below:

IMHO, One thing that separates Donald Trump from other presidents in my life time, is his perceived relativity to American Citizens.

How many times did Barrack Obama give a humble, "thank you" to normal Americans? None that I remember. George H W?

I remember both of them acting like they were above the common folk. Donald Trump acts like he NEEDS normal, everyday folk in order to function.

DJT says, "Thank you!"
Barrack Obama said, "You didn't build that!"

Such a breath of fresh air in today's world.

Well it looks like the weather mostly cooperated, although some breeze to blow the smoke off the fireworks would be nice. Watching now on PBS and it's one HELL of a display!

As a Production guy...they got it DOWN. Audio was incredible, no missed cues, no dropped signals, no feedback, lighting was spot-on, the mix was dead-on - for a live gig, this was as polished as a lot of stuff that goes through full post-production.

It was NOT a campaign rally. Unless you consider campaigning for the USA to be a bad thing. I didn't hear a single word about "I did this" or "my Presidency did that"...I heard American history, American pride, praise of the American people, praise for this nation and ALL its people (not this group or that group...ALL of us, united as one), and most of all, pride in and gratitude to our troops.

Well done, Mr. President. Well done indeed.

Thank you.

I teared up watching the B-2 and its fighter escorts bank around the Washington Monument and proceed straight over the Mall, and seeing the President exclaiming "Wow!"

So nice to see a President who loves our country and honors its founding!

More please!

I was assured by a friend that as soon as Congress gets Trump's tax forns, he's over.

He also thinks I'm crazy to not believe in the CO2 crisis, that the world will end in a decade from overheating, that medical care should be government provided, that the $750 Bill I got from the Hospital is the Hospital's fault, and rides his very nice Yamaha alphabet 1200 at extra legal speeds in excess of the Ton wearing sneakers, untied, without socks. A lot.

Other than that, he's a top notch professional who says he never watches the News.

We also disagree on foreign policy, that Obama made war on multiple countries, was a vocal & covert contributor to several coups, gave guns and support to Muslim Brotherhood/AQ/ISIS, and screwed Poland to make his good friend Vladimir happy, in return for pretending to pressure Asad to give up his chemical weapons stockpiles and attacks.

Nope. Never happened. Showing him actual data from the Dept. of Labor, NASA, or video of Obama asking the Russian President to wait until he was reelected, ( wait to invade & conquer the Crimean peninsula and Eastern Ukraine ) when Obama would have more flexibility to cut the U.S. Military, ( as he did ) creates temporary blindness, a radical reduction in basic math skills, loss of memory of the existence of cause & effect, and auditory hallucinations. ( since what I just showed him has no relationship to what he heard )

Strong job growth is back: Payrolls jump in June well above expectations

quote:

Nonfarm payrolls rose 224,000 in June, well above market expectations of 165,000, according to the Labor Department.

The unemployment rate edged higher to 3.7% but was still near 50-year lows.

Wage growth was 3.1% year over year, one-tenth of a point below market expectations.

Well done!!! AGAIN!!!

Reading through this thread one would believe that everyone with a motorcycle is a fan of The Donald.
Not exactly.

We have a local motorcycle meet once a month here in central Pennsyltucky and this past Sunday some fellows in Trump 2020 regalia made the mistake of approaching some Pagans to ask if they were recruiting.
The reply was "F*ck you, you guys are assholes!" so just a friendly heads up for when you're out and about. Not everyone shares your enthusiasm for this current administration.

I've been amazed (pleasantly) by how many "normal" daily folk lately have been starting conversations - or steering other conversations - towards how nutso the left is and how proud they are of our President.

And that's here in the pinko Republik der Marylanden...admittedly, at the store where we sell ATVs and side-by-sides. When I'm at my "other" job - the sound company - and doing shows at bars downtown it's a much more liberal crowd and the artsy-fartsy bunch is decidedly less pro-President.

I just keep my mouth shut, smile and nod, and let them take the convo where they want it. Regardless. No sense "triggering" someone....

So I'm watching the news right now, and they're talking about the Dem's push to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. They touch on most of the points - it will result in layoffs because small businesses can't afford that level of payroll, there will be a huge drop-off in employment numbers because of it, there will be some small businesses that will go entirely out of business - but they're forgetting one main problem that will affect EVERY American.

INFLATION.

If it becomes mandated that every worker gets more dollars...each dollar becomes worth less.

And, not just for those workers - for EVERYONE.

I don't work for minimum wage, and I won't get a "raise"...but MY food prices will still go up. MY gas prices will go up. MY clothing prices will go up. MY electric bill will go up. ALL my expenses (and all of YOURS) will go up, because every one of the dollars I earn and every dollar that everyone earns, will be worth less than it is now.

These people will do whatever they can to undo the progress our President has brought around, and edge us closer to Socialism...it's just disgusting.

The secondary effect of raising the minimum wage is the bump up that the higher wage scales get. Some union contracts state the the wage is xxx% of the minimum. Joe, you are certainly correct that there is upwards pressure on evrything if the minimum is raised.
I'd say eliminate it entirely and watch the adjustment!

Unfortunately, my Union had no such contract.

I've worked at a job for years, received merit raises and had new hires make the same or more after a minimum wage hike. So unfair, and discouraging.

Union shops, don't have merit raises. That wrecks the seniority system.

However, when management is evil, you need a Union to protect the workers. My company qualifies since Congress is involved.

A former employer, not long after they laid me & 2100 others off, then proceeded to selectively fire employees soon to be eligible for retirement. Then stole the retirement fund. While selling off all the most profitable parts of the business, then all the functional parts, until it was just the management team & a few departments they couldn't sell, then declared bankruptcy, then gave themselves a huge bonus out of the money owed to fired employees. ( approved by the court! )

And that was over several CEOs, each who looted the company, took huge bonuses, ( and company paid mansions & supercars ) & quit.

Not sure even a Union could have saved that company. Assassins, maybe.

Laurie and I attended the Prescott Fourth of July Parade (held on Saturday). When the Republican float went by, thousands of spectators spontaneously started cheering President Trump. I couldn't believe my ears and had to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming, after having lived in the oppression of the Socialist State of Kalifornia. The spectators would have been attacked by Antifa (fascist) milkshakes if this had been in California.

You can have your Pagans, SteveFord. You are silly. I will stick with Americans who realize the source of record low unemployment, rising wages, rising stocks, and newly found respect by our friends and enemies of America. America loves Trump.

We are home.

Footnote: Laurie and I stopped at Safeway and in the parking lot, a woman asked if we were from California. She is a fourth generation Latina-American from San Pedro. She could not stand the Communism that California has become and she moved to Prescott. All of her relatives are union and longshoremen and they all voted for Trump.

Construction Employment Increases in 39 States and D.C. Between May 2018 and May 2019

Thirty-nine states and Washington, D.C. added construction jobs between May 2018 and May 2019, according to analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

The AGC reported 43 states added construction jobs between April 2018 and April 2019, 38 states added jobs between March 2018 and 2019, and 37 states added jobs between February 2018 and February 2019.

“Construction demand remains strong, and contractors increased their workforce in most states over the past year, yet the record number of job openings at the end of April implies contractors would add even more workers if they could,” AGC chief economist Ken Simonson said.

“With the unemployment rate now near a 50-year low, it is more challenging than ever for contractors to hire and retain qualified employees.”
