The true defining conservative versus liberal divide isn't based upon any policy or issue; it's based upon how one interprets the Constitution, either conservatively as written and intended by its authors, or liberally as we might see fit to reinterpret as we like so as to fit our current ideas. Adultery & fornication ( outside a marriage ) are harmful, and since Victorian Era sex laws mandated that a homosexual would have only adultery and fornication as a lifestyle, your statement above is a ringing endorsement of gay marriage. Stable relationships are good for society. I know that wasn't your point, but you prove it pretty good. I do try to remember where these messed up laws and attitudes come from. Queen Victoria, wasn't she the Virgin Queen? A time of closeted sexual excess and public condemnation of any hint... prudes and hypocrisy of the highest order. See also the many "family values" politicians caught trying to get laid in airport restrooms or Congressional cloakrooms, or, like the former Governor of NY, hauling hookers around on the taxpayer dime, interstate. Former AG of the state and a VERY self righteous man. Certainly I'm a Constitutional conservative. As a general guide to prevent tyranny, it's the best so far. Even though it's a bit dated in the information age, it is open to updates. Some of those updates have been horrible. Prohibition, Income tax, etc. But we can fix that. No limits on power gives us the Vladimirs and Baracks and Saddams. people whose legacy is full of death and broken promises. | ||

God Bless Donald Trump. The MSM has had snipers and assassins in their hightower for decades. Mr. Trump is using a BLU-82 Daisy Cutter on them and exposing their dishonest and politically biased reporting. They either learn journalism or they perish. Today's press conference where Mr. Trump announced his ~$6 million contributions to our beloved veterans was beautiful. Mr. Trump will not allow the snipers to take their positions and the more he did it, the more emotional the so called "reporters" became. Trump pretty well made idiots of his naysayers today . . . all the things he said he'd do . . .well, he'd in fact, done them. My suspicion is that the quick of mouth and light of brain fail to realize that when you do a fund raising effort, regardless of how laudable the cause is, it takes a good period of time to actually convert the pledges to cash and then to properly vet the prospective beneficiaries. Can you imagine the outcry if some of the funds had gone to a group, later found to be questionable. Say . . . well, like some of those (including Bill's "Energizer" neighbor) questionable causes adopted by the Clinton Foundation. In fact, I think the comparison of Trump's initiative to raise funds for Veterans was best illustrated when the announced suggested it be contrasted to all the shady things that have occurred surrounding the Clinton Foundation. Trump, love him or hate him, pretty much mopped the floor with the pseudo-journalists today. They are really screwing with the wrong guy . . . . | ||

Apollo 11 landed on the Moon paid for with taxpayer's money. It was real. One b.s. tactic used by many progressives is the "you don't want any regulations" mantra. That's almost always a lie. Rational folk & Conservatives want good regulation. There are plenty of good laws. Don't steal, don't murder, don't sell poison CDO's. I think most can agree on those. There are also many bad laws. Some few gone now but many still with us. Negros forbidden facilities based on racism. Blacks denied education by racist policies with the underlying assumption of inferiority. Religious persecution of those who question the State Dogma. CDO'S are a great example. Scam of the century, bundle bad house loans into a stock like paper item to shed debt and hide it somewhere else. Crashed the economy, but are they gone? No. The same companies that got rich still get richer and being "too big to fail" (bribe Barry) not only had YOU pay for their scam but continue to sell them. Kids born to single mothers with no support from the sperm donor have a much higher rate of poverty & crime. Simple fact. Not even that complex reasons. Poor to zero responsible male role models and you get poor responsibility in the next generation too. Spiral of decay. Chicago. Detroit. Etc. Not to say a rich single mother can't raise good kids. I admit I was annoyed when Madonna decided she needed to buy some black kids from Africa. ( presumably for status..... like owning a rare pet like a cheetah. What does big government do well? Or is it that the CDC study is actually wrong because big government really does things poorly. What's most likely is that government spent stupid amounts of our money spent to do that study. That's where big government really fails consistently. There are numerous cases, such as the VA, where government manages to spend stupid amounts of money and still fail to provide on the deliverables. Is this even a "study", or is this just compilation of statistics? Tracking it's people is one of the few things that government tends to be more adept at. | ||

I sure don't need CDC statistics reporting to know that immoral behavior harms people; they just bolster the case for those who may be confused or in denial about what is moral versus immoral behavior. But as with all things big govt, the reporting is likely biased in favor of the govt narrative; the current "Rainbow House" chief executive and his associates actively promoting homosexual behavior and gender confusion; the reality may well be even worse than what we're being told. Where's the morality in forbidding shellfish? Practical rule for the time and place, true, shellfish concentrate toxins and they've had a red tide issue for a long time in that region. But there are many moral questions any thinking human should be able to agree on. I don't care if you worship the God of the Book, or Zeus, or the FSM. Or try pure secular humanism with aristotelean logic. Murder, rape, assault, theft... Seriously, if you can't figure out a Darwinian reason for a society to condemn these acts, I'd prefer you not be anywhere near me or mine. Because I believe in Darwinian responses to such. Lie to gain power? In who's mind is that moral? Higher Purpose? That's the logic used by Sanger and Shaw to commit and excuse genocide. Racism, purity of the Master Race, elimination of the Lesser Breeds, the foundation for Planned Parenthood. Selling dead babies for parts is just a bonus to the bottom line. In Shaw's case the glory of the Holy State made gas chambers and eugenics a righteous cause. ( he never did get to gas anyone. Those who were fans did, enthusiastically, just ask the Romany. ) When it comes down to the backlash against the Gay Mafia wanting not just acceptance but privilege over others, you get stupid legislation about bathrooms. I take malicious joy in informing you that trans-whatever folk have been going to the bathroom of their choice for a long time. And few ever notice.
