While redoing the top end I found that you can use a head bolt for installing the oil seal with the valve in place. Just remember to remove the plastic tube that slips over the valve tip to prevent damage to the seal. Slip the bolt over the valve stem and it keeps it square with the valve guide. Few taps with a plastic hammer and it's on. This was on a XL motor, thought I better throw that in.
