Battery was dead at first on a Wednesday, I left the bike on "park mode" for several hours not realizing. Tried to crank and it just clicked. Let it sit for a few minutes with no lights on and went to crank again and it struggled at first but it started up. Road home, all seemed ok.

Next day, Thursday, charged the battery up and did some riding around town...on the way home it left me stranded. Friday I charged the battery up and rode around town Friday/Sat/Sun, all seemed fine. Monday, on the way into work bike left me stranded...battery was shot.

I have a new battery now, but I'm weary of running around with it but I'm also not sure I have a charging system problem, maybe the ECM just has to re-learn itself?

I hooked up leads to the new battery while the bike was running, revved it up to 3000-RPM and was getting a 14V reading on the multimeter. I'm thinking if it were the stator I'd be getting 12V's or below, if I had issues with the Regulator I'd be getting 15V's or more. I attached a screenshot of the Trouble Codes I read this morning with the new batter installed.

There's also a link to a YouTube video below where I recorded another one of my concerns and it causes me to think that there is something up with the charging system. When you first turn the ignition on the check engine light comes on but goes off after a few seconds...what I'm noticing now that I never noticed before is the check engine light coming on a second time for another few seconds and turning back off. I never noticed it until I started having issues so I don't know if it's trying to tell me something. I didn't have any issues with the bike until I ran the battery dead.

Any suggestions?

I found that my 77 connector had a bit of melting/carbon build-up on it so I'll presume that it could be the culprit to my troubles.

Seems difficult to find this connector on its own so I may just purchase the regulator that comes with the updated connector and replace that part of the system.

I ran the tests for the stator as dictated in the Buell service manual and it seems like it is functioning properly.

I replaced the 77 connector. I'm wondering if anyone had any insight on whether or not the regulator, even though it is regulating properly, could still drain the battery?

Testing showed that the regulator limited voltage to 15V at high RPM. At 3,000-RPM I was getting approximately 14V at the battery.

Any ideas?

Dunno. There is a diode bridge in there, so for sure it is possible.

Sounds a bit like the experience I had with my 06 about a month ago. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/695195.html?1349579285

Like you I changed the melted connector first. Symptoms that followed caused me to change the Voltage Regulator as well. Since then all is well electrically.

However, I recently discovered the right fork seal leaking : (
