Hey Bob, welcome to BadWeb.

You have several options.
1.) Ham Can setup, you can get from HD
2.) Use the existing Helmholz resonator, fill the holes with plastic caps and put a K&N cone filter on the end. Some call it an "Econowinder" setup.
3.) Forcewinder setup.

Option 2 is cheapest, option 3 most expensive.

Welcome to the best Buell board.

Have an old-style Jagg cooler on my '01 X-1. The one that mounts on the left side frame rail near the battery. The new one mounts on the frame brace in front of the engine.

Mine was a nice, easy install, has been in place for 8+ yrs, and no problems. I have not done any oil temp measurements to see how well it works.

There is a third screw on the inside at the front, its in a recessed hole between the front edge and the intake hole opening.

It has been my Buell experience that a factory service manual is a very worthwhile investment. Possibly the most valuable tool in the tool box.

hi any and all buell x1 owners .
i have a 1999 x1 just started to not come back to 1100 rev range
it now sits at 2.200to 2.500 revs when should be at idell.
have be told it could be inlet gaskets sprayed with metholated sprits and no different in revs noticable or air getting in at exhaust
or could be the air sensor on the exhaust any person what i should attack first
